Default My Processor's Temp...

I have a Water cooling kit from Cooler Master, and my Processor is an AMD64 4000+ (Not overclocked)... I'm looking at the gague on my PC that measures the Temperature, and it's just a little over the 86° Fharenheit mark (about 30° celesius)...

That sounds high to me... Is it suppose to be that high??? Or is that normal....

I read about how peoples Comps were in the 30°-50° area with water cooling, but I never really noticed if they said Celsius, or fharenheit... I just wanted to know if everything was alright...

Thanks...

Yeah, i'm not sure if it's just a faulty meter, or if somethings wrong with the Water Cooling...

Dude, 30 C, is like, unbelivably cool, athlons run cool reguardless... If you get close to 40, thats when you should be worried...

Its normal for a p4, esp overclocked, to hit 50 C or even 60 C... It gets realll hot... (my p4 3.6 HT EE is clocked up to 4.0, and I just have this massive heatsink and fan that shoots the air directly out of the side of the case via massive tube... it runs around 52 C

Yeah I have a non-overclocked 3.0 Ghz p4 w/ a Prescott Core and it idles at about 127° F, bumps up about 5° when it's in use. I've got some massive fans, but it doesn't really help that the ambient temperature in this room is pretty high (I have 4 CRT Monitors, 2 P4 Towers, and a TV always running).

30°C is damn near cold.

I can't wait until winter; I'm going to run a AC duct from out my window straight into the tower (ghetto cooling system ).

No worries. 30 celcius is really low. AMD's have much less of a heating problem than pentiums. The average for AMDs is around 40 and they'll only start acting conky at around 50 or so. also consider that it'S almost impossibly to permanently damage your CPU from overheating. At 60, sure your CPU will crash half the apps and windows behavior will be loopy, and eventually it will shut down the computer, but give it time to cool and it will be fine. The shutting-down is an automatic security measure to prevent damage.

My AMD Athlon XP 2800+ is usually 40-45 degrees in warm weather and I never experience problems, even with heavy gaming.

Yeah 30 is incredibly low. But that'll be as you have water cooling. My AMD athlon xp2600+ runs at 42 degrees Idle and 48 with a full load. And it also makes a hurrendous (sp?) noise from the stock fan+heatsink and the 3 case fans. I'm looking at water cooling it to reduce some noise. I'm not fussed about temp as my mobo is not overclocking friendly at all. Although i'm looking at upgrading to 64bit. Which will mean new mobo, cpu, cooling. And depending on the mobo may look into o/clockin which will require higher cooling.

Does anyone know if the Intel/AMD 64 bit CPU's can be overclocked yet?

Doom 3 is legendary. I play it with the lights out, full 5.1 sound with the bass up high. Awesome atmosphere.

Off topic: Love the avatar (its peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time), and why the name change (you are daddyfatsacz aren't you?)
