Why does everyone have problems with Firefox using too much RAM? It works fine for me.

Honestly, lashing out is not going to get you help. Seems to me you are having an ID 10 T error, and not a firefox error. Everyone (including myself) has no problems with firefox. My advice to you is to either take the advice already givin or shut the front door.

I'm pretty computer literate, but WTF is "ID 10 T" ??? I just thought I would ask here first, since I see only 2 people on this ENTIRE forum will help me...I guess I will have to ask else-where. Oh, if I didn't already say this, I have my windows cache/virtual memory set to use a couple of gigs.

Firefox does have some memory leaks.. they tend to be in the plugins. DO you view a lot of media files using browser pugins? which ones do you have loaded? Does restarting Firefox clear up the memory?

Other leaks I know about stem from my development work, anyone who deals with MS Server Reporting or Analysis services know about them.. it's really bad.

While you don't care about others' RAM usage, it might help to now how much you're actually using..

My firefox is using 64,000k of ram out of 256mb of ram, and 500mb of disk space. I really need more ram, but this is on my laptop, and I already 1 gig of ram on my gaming pc

Hey NeilR, what's so special about being a global mod? Does any other mod not have the power to ban foreigners?

Well, I remember you saying a while ago that your name is now red because you're a global mod. What's the difference between you and say, DFS? (At least I don't think he's a global mod, whatever that means.)

Ohh, now I see where you're coming from..
Global Mods moderate everywhere "in the forums.. not the world ". DFS is PSP/360 mod (we all do Off-Topic).

Anyhow.. back on topic.

What I am basically asking is, is there any way to make firefox primarily use the hard drive and none-to-little ram on my computer?
