im just starting to lk skin and theme my computer, and a few weeks ago, my logon screen isnt lk normal, it is all black and says push ctrl alt delete to start windows and stuff like that, no matter what program i use to try and change it, it stays the same!! help ME!!

hmm.....go to start, programs, accesories, system tools, system restore.

go back to a date b4 u installed the login or whatever.

You probably downloaded a corrupt skin. There are other ways to fix it, but system restore is the easiest. BTW, are you doing this through something like windows blinds, or have you patched your uxtheme.dll?

well, i patched the uxtheme.dll a while ago, but now im using style xp with the vistaxp skin

and also, im not sure when i did whatever i did to make it that way, so ill just be restoring blindly, and i have alot of stuff i installed and downloaded i dont wanna lose

Don't worry about losing files, Windows renames them so that they don't get deleted. It just changes your settings

It adds (2) after the name. For example Quicktime changes to Quicktime(2). And no it doesn't move them that I know of

didnt freaking work, i did system restore back TWO months, and was still the same, this only happened 3 weeks ago WTF??

Did u ever mess with the login screen?
That happened to me before and i just changed the login screen back to normal, i used logon studio.

# Select Settings, then Control Panel
# Click the Network icon
# In the default screen, which shows the Configuration tab on top, find the box with the title Primary Network Logon
# Pull down the menu and select Windows Logon
