Hmmmm...going off past Dell history, it will be something no one expects from Dell (like their PDA) but nothing 'new' within the industry.

Or, maybe they've decided to get rid of the viruses before putting them on the computer.

Or, amybe they've accepted the fact that they suck and have given up.

OR, maybe they've made a crappy dell OS.

The possibilities are endless.

They're good if you just need a bare bones PC... i.e. if PC illiterate parent wants one.

Their server hardware isn't too shabby. Dell servers run the DCs in the world's largest Active Directory environment and so far no problems.
But those goddamn 'blinkin-lights' on the front in the Dell logo need to GO.

True, their desktops are pieces of crap. For desktops I prefer the recent IBM models we got in.
Unfortunately, IBM ThinkPads are pure garbage to me. I prefer the Dell laptops for that. But then again, I only use them for work, not for gaming or personal use.
And the Army sure as hell loves Dell.
Almost every single laptop in both the Iraqi theater and Europe is a Dell Latitude.

Yeh, there Desktops are. I mean, i was looking at one in their catalog, and its specs were worst then the average laptop's.

Did anyone look at the article? They're probably planning some sort of set top computer, that will be the new "multimedia hub" and run Windows MC.

edit: billy the killy have you seen x men 3 yet? I just got home from it, I recorded that extra scene at the end on my phone. IMO the scene wasn't worth the wait for the credits.

I have a Dell desktop for a couple of years now. I haven't had any problems. It runs Halo, Photoshop, and Flash perfectly fine. I don't know what there really is to have problems with.

I'm in the process of fixing a Dell Inspiron 9100 for a friend. The hardware is actually pretty decent, but I do agree that the way it comes from the factory it's rubbish. It was in such a bad state that I had to reinstall Windows. The hardest part was that it wouldn't accept the serial number that was on the sticker on it, although I got it working in the end...
