Well I was doing some extensive tests on my PSP, and it seems as though my USB drivers on my PC have corrupted
Whenever I connect my PSP, it either tries to recognize it(and fails), or it somehow recognizes it but when I try to do something(copy/paste, delete) it's reaaaaaally sloooow. Like..ridiculously slow. It'll even cut out at times and not recognize it anymore.I know this isn't my PSPs fault. I've formatted the stick, and I've even upgraded/downgraded to 1.5>2.0>1.5. I can connect it to my other computer fine too. I'm almost positive it must be THIS computers USB drivers. Can anyone help me out? know how to reinstall the USB drivers? anything? Thanks |

The same thing happened with me, except for USB WiFi adapter drivers. Nothing I did would fix them, I just had to ditch it and use the wired card in my comp. I don't know about USB mass storage device drivers though...

Hmmm.... Is this the case with all USB devices, if yes then try the following.
Go to Start>>>Control Panel>>>System>>>Hardware >>>Device Manager and then click on the plus sign next to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". There should be an array of devices named "USB Root Hub". Is there an explanation mark (black, yellow) on the icons? If there is, then one of the most common methods for correcting them is to right-click and uninstall them. The next time you reboot them, your operating system should automatically detect them and install the drivers necessary for them. WARNING: This is only if your problem is as described as above. I done this 2 days ago to a brand new laptop and the USB drives were fine after that. However, when I tried this on my home PC last year, Windows didn't re-install them and hence I was screwed.

Well, lo and behold, my USB Camera wasn't working either. Ugh.
So, I attempted that, and now whenever I plug in my psp(or any other usb device) - USB Device Not Recognized One of the USB Devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message. After clicking the message, it just tells me to reattach the device and see if it works. EDIT - ahh I don't want to format AGAIN! |

Well, I tried everything in the book...so I resorted to formatting. Doesn't really affect me either. I don't have anything important on my comp(and everything that was important, I just lanned it over to my other comp).
Even with the format, it's STILL not working. NO USB device will work at all. Not even my camera or anything. It must be the USB ports? or my mobo ****ed up and USB won't work? I don't know, I'm very confused atm. Luckily the computer is fairly new; I'm going to take it in and see if I can get it replaced, or possibly fixed. |
