Isnt Vista in beta? so doesnt it have a right to be less secure at the moment?

Yes. Windows Vista is in BETA mode still.
But it is supposed to be out by the end of this year (I believe).
So they should be getting ready to finalize, therefore, no excuse for ****ty security!

Yea but you have to take into account that Xp is very old and has had many fixes, Vista is new and is of course going to be less secure than its predecessor.

Still they have been working on it for a LONG time now, and they shouldn't release a new OS if they don't have new security, and ways to fight off Spam+Spyware, etc. What is the point? A few new feats.? I wouldn't pay $400+ for this P.O.S. if they can't give me good security!

A few neat tricks is exactly what Windows needed to do. Theya re slowly loosing their base to Mac OS and Linux. People are starting to realize that Windows isnt going to work for them is they go in the direction they are going. So Vista was the answer. By making it look prettier and do a few new moves to entertain the eyes, they are attracting their base back. I do agree though it isnt worth it if you are going to make your OS insecure.

I'm not saying Vista won't be more or less secure than Windows XP is now, I'm just saying there might be a hint of sensationalism in this article.
