Default Virus alert, please help me!

ok i have this thing on my computer that is REALLY annoying me and i can't remove it no matter what i do! The computer says i have an infection but when i installed spyware doctor, ran a comprehensive check, it said no viruses (0). How do i remove this (P.S. i also used avast anti virus, and norton anti virus, i have also restarted my computer many times and ran the spyware doctor scan MANY times as well) Thanks.

I can help you, if you give me one piece of information. What happens when you click on that little pop-up? Tell me exactly what it is. Names and everything.

I've already had this virus, conventional programs do not work on it. Go here. Try automated first, then manual. You might need to print stuff off or write it down, it involves a restart.

Here's a really good tip: DON'T USE AVAST! Its a piece of ****. I used to get virus alerts every 2 minutes with it that turned out to be absolutely nothing. It thinks somethings a virus when it isn't. BTW, that little thing at the bottom of the screen looks more like an adaware pop-up to me rather thana virus. Windows doesn't use that kind of theme and neither do any of the virus programs you have.

I've had my computer for a few months(windows xp), with no anti-virus and/or anti-spyware programs. I just got a few anti-whatever programs today, and it's absolutely fine.

Avast is good if you know how to scan thing before you use them so you don't get viruses very easly, Even then shecdual(sp?) a boot time scan.

That's not a real virus alert. You've just got spyware.

Did you install eMule, or BearShare, or any of that crap?

The bearshare.exe application is the main application for the BearShare filesharing software. Some versions of this software contain spyware so it is advisable to terminate the bearshare.exe process.

bearshare.exe is considered to be a security risk, not only because spyware removal programs flag BearShare as spyware, but also because a number of users have complained about its performance.

BearShare is likely spyware and as such, presents a serious vulnerability which should be fixed immediately! Delaying the removal of bearshare.exe may cause serious harm to your system and will likely cause a number of problems, such as slow performance, loss of data or leaking private information.

try using a good antivirus or antispyware program during safe mode

then back up your important files, throw your PC out the window, go to the apple store and buy a mac

I swear it hasn't been mentioned before.
But spyware doctor (the program you had open) is perfectly safe. The Icon in the system tray is to do with spyware doctor.
The other one however, I have no clue.
