Default Size problem.

I have a midi file. Is there any way to sharply reduce its file size? Like, water down the quality or something?

I'm pretty sure you can't, but midi files are tiny as it is. Why do you need it smaller?

This geocities I'm using has a very limited size transfer. Normally midi files are small but I converted it from Mp3, which raised its size alot. 12 megs. I suppose there's no way to shrink it?

Erm, 12 megs?

What song is it? I might be able to get it for you.

It's the theme to an anime show. The name is "Naraku no Yabou". The reason it's so big is because it still has its quality from when it was an Mp3.

Can't get that, sorry. I can only get pop songs really. Are you sure you even want music on your page? Music gets irritating quickly...

I'm making a website for the anime show, InuYasha. I'm trying to match character bios with music themes of that particular character. Trouble is, geocities doesn't accept Mp3 files so I tried to convert it but that left me with a 12 megabyte midi.

Hmm. Can you upload it to a different host and shorcut it?

The point of it was to have the music playing that matches the character while someone was looking at the character bio. If I used a link, I might as well link it to the site I got the Mp3 file from.

No, that's not what I mean. Upload it to somewhere else, and add it into the source of the page as embedded music.

Wouldn't that use up the same amount of file transferring?

No, because the file wouldn't be on the page. It would be on a different site.

The way to create a pop song by midi, is to play it in, or to type it in yourself by a program like sibelius.
I doubt it would play on any phones, as the phone wouldn't have the set sounds if it is 12mb.

Did you read? I don't intend to use it for a phone. It's for a website. Siouxsie, I'll try your idea.
