Default What OS?

ok well, my dad works at a computer stor and they told him he could take any computer he wants. So he told me that hes taking the one that never came out yet but doesn't have an OS installed on it (he's giving the computer to me). So i wanted to know what OS i should get. I currently have the following...Windows XP, Windows ME, Ubuntu 6.06, and windows 95...lol. What should i install.

P.S. i have never used Ubuntu before but i've had it installed.

Depends what you're going to do. If you like linux, install Ubuntu. If you like games, install windows. If you like both, dualboot.

OSx86 is an illegal version of the Mac OSx which has been modified to run on any PC. By removing a very tiny and week firewall type thing it can be run on virtually any type of computer

It depends. If you want to play games and just want simplicity and stability right away (and viruses/spyware if you aren't careful), go for Windows XP. If you want to have more stability, a faster OS, but not as much game support, go with Ubuntu. Stay away from 2000 at ALL COSTS. Also, if you're experienced with Linux, and want to optimize and change every little detail about your computer (although if you're not careful you can mess it up), go with Slackware Linux. If you're interested in Linux, but not sure, install Windows, and then download some Live versions, to sort of get your feet wet. With Live versions you can just download the .ISO, burn it to a CD, slap the CD in, and it'll start Linux up. It won't mess up your files in anyway. All the information is stored in the RAM. If you choose Linux you still have the option of either deleting all your Windows Partitions, and killing Windows, or having both. If I were in your situation, I would dual-boot

And if you want an OS you don't have to worry about when it comes to configuring or dealing with malware there's OSX86.

Isn't OSx86 based off of Mac OS X, except it's made to run on the x86 architecture? I'm a newb to that OS..

Why not install all of them! the GRUB loader that comes with Ubuntu makes it insanely easy to choose which OS to boot into.
