Default [Help] Displaying PC on TV?

I know that it is very easy to do, but there isn't much documentation on it. I would like to display/use my TV as a monitor basically. I have several videos on my laptop that I would like to view on the TV (without burning to CDs/DVDs), and I have an S-video out port from my video card. What cables and/or software would I require to display my work on the TV?

Well if your TV has S-video in then just an S-Video cable. As far as software, none, because it should just display whatever is on the screen of the laptop. If your TV doesn't have S-video, then you might need convertor cables or something, I'm not too sure about that.

To be honest, there isnt much documentation because for the most part it i just a straight cable to your tv and its done. however you might need to tweak a few driver settings.

has information on what to change if necesary.

Ok, I was just making sure I needed an S-video cable, it seemed to be so simple with just one cable, thanks all.

Thanks Kaio, that is exactly what I was looking for

Alright, so let me make sure I have this right (my original plan) -

S-video only transmits video (color/brightness) and no sound. Separate auido cables need to be used, but this isn't a problem, i'll just use my laptop's speakers Thanks everyone

Exactly. S-video is just that, video only. Youve got the speakers part covered.
