Default All in one archive?

Right now i have many archivers on my computer. WinRAR, WinZIP, UHARC GUI, and IZArc (which is the best i've seen, decompresses many filetypes that WinRAR and WinZIP can do, and more, but its not that stable )

So, see IZArc is the best, but sometimes it cannot extract files for some reason, so when that happens, I have to use my "backup" decompressors. So i am wondering which program, doesnt matter if it costs money as long as it has a trail, that can decompress and compress many filestypes, so i dont have to have so many programs on my computer. Recently, ive been deleting useless programs, thus speeding up my computer, and i want to increase the performance of it.

Thanks!
So do you have an answer to my unfortunate question?

TMK: As I am a downloader, and use many things, WinRAR doesnt cut it. Although there wasnt a format i have thrown at IZArc that it could not unzip, the thing is sometimes it just cant unzip certain files for some reason.

7zip. Search for it at www.sf.net It's awesome, plus its got its own proprietary format, .7z, which I read is a better compression than any other apps right now.

WinRAR is THE worst compression/decompression program.

7-zip is free and easy to use and supports alot of formats and is FREE.

lol...i guess thats why most of the intarweb chose the rar format over everything else, including 7z..</sarcasm>

it is the cleanest and fastest archiving program. 7zip is buggy and slower than winrar.

Most people use IE6 over Firefox, does that necessarily mean that IE6 is better? It just means more people are uninformed.
If everyone uses 7z compression, the person who made the file will get endless questions on how to use it.

I've used a program that required 7z. I had to install it for one file. Out of over a thousand .ZIPs and .RARs that I've downloaded, one file was a .7z.

Now, I know the good things aren't always popular, but the unpopularaity of 7z does actually make it worse.

you would be right if we were comparing browsers, or operating systems..

but i explicitly mentioned the 'intarweb', where the people actually KNOW what's supposed to be done

its not luck that the rar format was chosen over 7z as the successor to ace...the rar compression has been tried tested and proven. i, for one, wouldnt let my files anywhere near 7zip.

7z is good for encrypting files. Because it's so unknown, if you store important stuff in the 7z format, and not have anything to read it on the PC it's stored on, nobody will have a clue how to open it.
