I have Norton Antivirus 2006, it works GREAT. I mean, I am virus free, and it pops up whenever i download a bad file now. But, theres one bad thing, it slows my computer down. Before the installation, my computer would start up in a snap. (After inputting my password in the logon screen.) But now after the installation, i have to wait until "everything has loaded up." Now, why my laptop started up fast after logging on, is because i edited my registry, services.msc, and my start-up programs, to stop the crap from running. Now, does anyone know of a good virus software, thats works great, but doesnt slow down the computer. It has to have a trial, if it doesnt, then i sadly cannot use it.

If it doesnt have a trial, but its cheap, i may shell out for it, but most likely i will pirate it, so just give me programs with trials.

When i save up the money for a second harddrive (XD), im putting Debian on it. But thats from the fact, as WinXP PRO is still going to be my main OS, so i need protection....for my erection.

Anyways, I just read an article the other day about how more than 80% of viruses get past AV software, because the makers test them on the AV stuff before releasing the virus. I think the level of protection that you have would probably be the same with any other AV software. You probably just have good surfing habits or something. I've never gotten a virus either, but I've also never used AV software.

Hmm....true. Im 15 by the way. I just used the Master InuYasha thing since i turned 14. I would change my username, but im not premium. Well, whatever, it doesnt matter. I have heard of McAffee, but I just want Anti-Viral software that doesnt slow down my computer. And yes, i have reletavily good surfing habits, although, thanks to a certain user on this site, my computer got infected with billions of trojans. So, now i protect myself with Anti-Viral software.

I use Spybot - Search and Destroy every now and then as routine. I use AVG when things get pretty heavy (wish I'd find it sooner before I had to reformat my hard drive because of a virus).

I'm mostly virus free now. I only get viruses when I p2p or go to some ultra-wierd site, but they're never anything too malicious anyway. I know most of the stupid tricks people'll pull just to infect your computer (although, I wouldn't have forecasted what they did to Master_Inuyasha http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?t=57814), though I wish I could say the same for my sister:

1: Look, we won a cruise. I'll click it!
2: No, you idiot!
1: Shut up! *click=trojan heaven*
