if you want to upgrade your pc... then getting a mobo with onboard graphics is like crap, get a real video card.

the nvidia 6800 is a good choice if your looking for a budget one that still runs great

What size motherboard and what processor are you planning to get?
Do you plan to upgrade later? Do you plan to get a PCIe or AGP graphics card later?
What hard drives do you have? Are they SATA or PATA?

You need to give more details if you want a specific mobo recommendation. However the onboard graphics are mostly the same on all motherboards. Get a motherboard based on the nForce 4 chipset and you should be fine.

unless you want to do anything graphically.

if you just want a regular computer that wont play games, then you want onboard graphics

I would suggest the same. I done that myself, picked up a BFG Nvidia GeForce 6800 OS for £130, was on sale!

STAY AWAY FROM ON-BOARD!

Yeah of course, but the concept of sharing as a whole I wouldn't recommend(?) to anyone. I'd rather stay away from it unless it's a good motherboard.

Mine is an older model.
Toshiba Satellite 5205-S5151
32MB DDR NVIDIA GeForce4 460 Go graphics controller

Sucks though...I wish, I could easily save up some money, and upgrade to a 128 or 256 MB, but its integrated....

My laptop is also on-board. But it's able to run BF2, which is suprising so hey I ain't complaining! Yeah I think I'm saving up for upgrades myself.

Yeah, you should either save up

OR

Give the details of other requirements your motherboard needs e.g. processor, SATA ports etc and I will recommend a good motherboard.
There are some decent ones with onboard graphics that should be able to handle some older games just fine. A decent onboard is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131571
It has the graphical equivalent of a Geforce 6100. That won't be able to run games like Oblivion, but it's not too bad if all you want to do is play older games and some current games at the lowest setting. Also it is Micro ATX so take that into account when buying a case. Also make sure your processor and hard drives are compatible.

Only get Intel if you are going for Conroe. Since you aren't getting a Conroe, AMD would be a better choice, for gaming at least.
Do you do a lot of video and audio encoding? Pentium 4s are good for that I guess, but then again you wouldn't be asking for good onboard graphics if that were the case.
Also why not order online? It ends up cheaper anyway and you have a larger selection. (there is no Fry's here so I can't really comment on their range)

i just dont kno which parts are good and which parts are better.
