But theres something up with my router(if thats what its called when its non-wireless)...The data light keeps flashing and I can't do much on the internet because the cable company(I think) is trying to send data to my comp. Not sure if all routers are like this though...can anyone tell me how to stop that darn data light?

To stop your data light, unplug the router from the phone line.

Have you rebooted your router?
It could be your ISP doing something to the line.
