I've seen many people in the "Post Your Desktop" Thread, ask how others have a dock in windows.
Well, there are two option a free one or one you have to buy.
Well I'm only going to talk about the free one, RK Launcher
RK Launcher looks like the Mac Dock. It does most of the functions of the dock like magnification on mouse over, bouncing effects etc.
It allows you to use PNGs with transparency instead of the stupid .ico files as icons for your programs. So it looks really clean.
You can also add "docklets" or plugins for you dock. The Recycle Bin in the image above is a docklet that comes with RKLauncher. The Clock is as well They can use ones from YZdock or ObjectDock. Compatability differs from docklet to docklet so not all of them may work.
Wincustomize is a good site to look for docklets.
You can hide the taskbar. It completely hides it without the 1px bar.
There are a few issues though.
One is that it does not support system tray icons yet. Also it doesn't have an area for currently open windows that are hidden from view. It only shows the ones that are minimized.
Download the latest nightly build. It should be the one in the first post. Also look around the site if you want to make Windows XP look more like a Mac.
I've uploaded a set of PNG icons that look like Mac icons. They range from applications, file types, devices (hard drives, printers, etc) and other misc items. I got it from a Gnome Icon Set. I can't remember which one it was but as soon as I do, I'll add credit to the author. I also added one or two PNGs such as the PSP PNG (I made) and the Trillian Pro, and Photoshop Icons I found on the net.
