If I were to get an OS X operating system on my intel, which would be the best to choose? and possibly, how would I do it?

im DLing a torrent for this but its taking forever to DL....i wish there was a better way of getting it.

It all depends on your hardware.

The best would be 10.4
But installing we can't help you with since its illegel. Just check any mac site tough
