There is no uninstall option for any Operating System. You can either create a new partition for the OS or use a seperate hard drive. then if you want to remove it you format the partition/hard drive. Then you have the fantastic task of trying to remove the vista bootloader.

you do know that doesn't always work, right?

Most versions of XP Home don't have the recovery console on them. Especially if it was a pre installed version. Such as on a Dell or Fujitsu Siemens. They usually come with a "recovery cd". Which is a stripped down XP CD.

Yep my mum's toshiba had it and so did our old Fujitsu Siemens pc. The laptop now has a pirate XP Pro on it and the Fujitsu got thrown out the window. (the window was open tho). I then built a proper PC and that has the same XP Pro on it.

And of course so does mine. So we have the same XP Pro with the same wga workarounds and the same cd key on all 3 computers. The police could have a field day going through the pirated software in my household.

you need to have reliable floppy's for that. I got a floppy drive but all my disks keep corrupting. And I'm not going to buy more redundant technology. lol

I believe that Linux is the only OS that can be booted from the cd. Not 100% sure so don't bite my head off if I'm wrong.

Mac OSX 7 can boot off a USB flash drive
http://nothickmanuals.info/doku.php?id=minivmac

Might be the same for a CD. There is also a version of XP that can do that but it takes long to make.

Thats not OSX7 on USB. Its Macintosh Plus, 128K or SE.

But at least your post is constructive and to the point.

Edit: It kinda is almost osx7 its actual OS/7 no 'X'

Oops, yeah, I just saw 7.5.5 on the page and assumed it was 7. I guess it wasn't.

Ok I will then. What I was typing was not spamming.

You can get a live cd/dvd/flash drive whatever with windows xp using this program: http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

Next time you should reconsider what you think spam is.

Really? because what you said was 100% spam. How on earth you think it wasn't, I don't know.

Making a post that says nothing at all is called spam. If you had put that link in and actually proved that I was wrong then it would not have been spam. Anyone could have put "You are wrong!". PopeOfDope confirmed I was wrong and backed it up with evidence.

Next time you should think about what you are posting.

Wrong! Windows XP and older versions can be uninstalled if they've been installed using the "Upgrade" option and the user has selected "Allow me to uninstall Windows XP".

Bingo!

Now for the Windows version of a live CD, better known as Windows PE or Preinstallation Environment.

How about you keep "slamming the ban hammer" on idiots and let the people who have the "know-how" do their job of helping the ones with questions or problems. Your moderation post doesn't give you a right to flame members.

As staff (which you are but seem to think it makes you above the rules) you should be aware of the quick justice policy which states:
"If you're going to take the time to post "Use Search!", take the time to give them an answer. Otherwise don't bother replying. Posts consisting of nothing other than "Use Search!" will not be tolerated."

"Post with Purpose! These forums are very busy, and we are a GREAT resource and repository for a lot of useful information. However, it's hard to sift through this information with posts that don't add anything or contribute to the discussion."

So there you have it. His post contributed nothing, he is in violation of the policy. Now onto your post.

" Parrot Posts are not allowed. A parrot post consists of repeating what has already been previously stated or addressed in the thread. These posts are considered spam and may result in a temporary ban."

Your post added nothing knew you just resaid what has already been covered.

Again, how about you f'in use google before crying? A simple search for "Windows live CD" in google will give you the most relevant results. These forums are not supposed to contain all the wisdom of the internet. You have to search for it.

Again, a simple google search would've contradicted your beliefs. But noooo! You're supposed to threaten the members for more info, right?

Wrong. His post did contribute enough. But according to your "Quick Justice" policy, he was supposed to copy-paste a link + write a post detailing all of that. How lazy and selfish of you.

Lol, you amuse me! Jincast90 said you were wrong, so you flamed him. I gave a bit more info, plus a google link which would've helped you on your way. And you found my post "spam"? How about you re-read my post? Oh wait, you want me to copy+paste the whole wikipedia article here along with the instructions, right? LOL!

Stop defending your stupidity, I can go on all day long...

I think this is embarassing. This is just a battle of people who refuse to admit defeat. True, i have opinions on who is in the wrong, and i do think some of these new posting rules are getting ridiculous, but there is a point when a person is no longer worth arguing with. Neither of you are contribuing to the question prestented anymore, whether you were originally or not. For that matter, neither am I. please, just chill out. If someone gets on your case, ignore it. If they keep trying to argue, they only make themself look like a tool.
To be honest, nobody really cares all that much about a "use search post" anyway. it's teaching people how to do the right thing, instead of being spoon-fed knowledge.
