I got a Microadvantage 16x8 Dual layer all-in-one drive a while back, and I can't seem to get it to act like it should. When I eject a cd or dvd, windows still thinks the same disc is in it. I can even click on the drive and see the same directory structure of the disc I just ejected. The only way to get it to recognize the new disc, is to disable it and re-enable it, or restart. I have tried several times uninstalling it, yet it remains the same. Programs like dvd-shrink work just fine when it asks for a blank dvd-r, it starts burning with no problem. I posted this once on gamefaqs, and someone said to google for buffer underrun, but couldn't find anything to help me with my problem.
I built my own PC, so here's my specs:
AMD Athalon XP 2400+
Windows XP Home Edition on 60GB Harddrive, plus an extra 30GB drive
AGP Radeon 9600 PRO with 128DDR w/ TV out
Sound Blaster Live 5.1
TV Tuner Card
The burner is connected by itself to the secondary IDE port.
I appreciate any info on this.
