Ok, I ****ed up.. I tried to download the Battlefield 2142 demo.
It wasn't working, so I thought it was because my drivers weren't up to date.
So I went to this dell.com update site.
I entered my service code, and went to the 'Video Adapter' thinking that was for update for graphic cards.
I wasn't sure what I had, so I went to this thing they have to find out what you have, I entered my service code and got this:
CARD (CIRCUIT), GRAPHICS, 128MB, NV34, DIMENSION, SECOND
So I went back to the downloads, and downloaded the nVidia 128 MB DDR Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 update.
So i ran it, it ran fine, installed. then it said it found an older drive and needed to delete that, restart the computer and then install the new one.
So I said yes. Once it restarted, it said that this driver wasn't certified by some microsoft certification program or whatever. It advised not to install the driver.
So I click 'Cancel Installation'. It closed that window, and behind it was another window that said the installation was complete..
So my PC restarted, and the resolution was ****ed up. it was in 800x600 mode. I changed it to my normal resolution, and it looks fine now.
But the problem is I think I installed an older driver, and now everything screwed.
For example, when I scroll down a webpage, the screen updates much slower and looks sloppy
Or when I press start on the desktop, it overlaps some desktop icons, I close the start menu, and takes a while for the icons to be re-blitted again
So right now, I equal =
So PLEASE, help me!!
