Don't listen to PeterByrant.

They're both old. What do you need the GPU for? Provide us with a little detail on what it's going to be used for.

Your better off just throwing a bit of money around to get a decent one.

You're gonna need to spend around 100 bucks to get a half-decent one, so save up some more cash.

And by last a while I assume you mean not upgrading for a long time to keep up with graphical demands of games, if that's the case you will need a higher budget.

You should be able to get a Radeon 9250 or a Geforce FX5200 for that sort of price. They're both quite old now but would be better for you than the two in your first post.

Why don't you just save up some more money? It'll be worth it. And check page one... Mal posted a couple you could get.

It WAS a good card. For your price range the two I posted earlier would be better. The Radeon 9250 or Geforce FX5200. If your lucky you might be able to get a Radeon 9550 or a Geforce FX5700, they may be slightly out of your price range tho.

I got a radeon x800gto. And luckily it was one with an intact R480 core so I flashed it with x850xt bios and now it runs as one on all 16 pipelines

Here, I found a GeForce 6200 for you for only $49.99

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/XFX-G...oductDetail.do

That's a dam good deal for that card..
It's clock's are higher than the GeForce 6500

256mb RAM
533mhz

You must have an AGP slot though, but most motherboards do

Whats the specs of the rest of your PC?

Have you checked if you even have an AGP slot yet, you're not going to get a good graphics card if you don't.

You will need to open it up to see if you have one. http://www.benchmark.co.yu/tests/mai...s/a7ve/agp.jpg

Your specs are ok but even if you spent huge amounts on a graphics card you still won't be playing the latest games at the highest settings.

The Pentium 4 has been around for over 6 years now and the top spec ones run at 3.8Ghz now. Also 512mb isn't enough ram for modern game at top settings.

The best processor nowadays it Core2Duo (Intel) or the FX-64 (AMD)... You can upgrade it... but if you want that, and a new GFX card then you will need to have a lot more money to spend, and there have been like 10 posts with good deals of GFX cards and you seem to ignore them...

trust me, that geforce 6200 can pack enough punch for anything. i have it on a spare comp and it can run cs:source, WoW, cod2 and full settings and oblivion at low-mid settings
