Default New problem

today is not my day. to install a new driver, i uninstalled the windows xp service pack 2. then i installed the driver no problem. BUT..... my computer was stuck on the low 640x480 resolution and i couldnt see my start bar. so i thought "no problem, ill just reinstall the service pack and everything will be fine and dandy" well i was wrong. i reinstalled the service pack from microsoft and restarted my comp. now its still stuck in the 640x480 and i cant see the start bar to get to my computer. and when i right click the graphics settings bar wont open. im pretty scared i screwed up my comp. any help??? QUICK!!!!

im trying some new security updates from microsoft 53 in total. does anyone know if they will work?

what gfx card do u have and what driver did u install?

my computer wasnt allowing me to install the driver so online it told me to uninstall sp 2 and then install the driver and then reinstall sp2. my driver is the Intel 82865G card and a Radeon 7000 card

he probably uninstalled SP2 because it wasnt compatible?

exactly, windows couldnt load the installer for the display so i uninstalled the sp 2 and then i successfully installed the driver, wait updates are done brb.....damn! i still cant see the start menu but my screen seems to be more focused. any other ideas?

nevermind, i figured it out it was something to do with uninstalling the drivers and then logging on the administrators account to reset it. i did it! thanks for your help everyone!!!!
