Default do i have a dual core and how can i overclock this processor?

i have a pentium d Processor

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 7 GenuineIntel ~2661 Mhz
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 7 GenuineIntel ~2661 Mhz

BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 0502, 26/06/2006
SMBIOS Version 2.3

Total Physical Memory 1,024.00 MB

is this a dual core, because at boot up it says processors:2
and at the system requirements site it says: You Have: 2 processors running - Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.66GHz

how would i overclock this processor?

Yes it is dual core. It's a Pentium D 805.

Get this and take a screenshot of the CPU, Mainboard, and Memory tabs.

If possible, please provide info of your Motherboard, Ram, Video Card, etc.

Most important question, I guess.

You built this computer yourself right? It's not a pre-built (ie, Dell, Compaq, etc)

It's crucial cause pre-built's cannot be overclocked.

Edit 1:
In the meantime, I found these overclocking guides for Intel builds.

Ultimate Overclocking Guide
Info: Where can I find overclocking guides ?
Intel Overclocking Guide

I would recommend asking on that forum as there are many experienced people there that can further help you overclock your rig.

if you don't know if your processor Is dual core then you shouldn't attempt to overclock it

Read post #4.

In a nutshell, you'll have to go in the bios to change the fsb, memory timings, vcore, etc etc.

When your PC starts up you get a message ether on the top of the screen or at the bottom. It will say something like "Press F6 to enter BIOs", press the F key it says (cant remember which F key it is). That should take you into the bios.
Note that the message will go pretty fast so be prepared to get it when it pops up

Yeah what his guy said. Second, make sure you know how much to you're increasing each digit by. Too high or too low and you're screwed. I personally, don't mess with mine. *Light Bulb (idea)* But I got a campus full of computers that are just itching, asking me, "Abuse Me!!! Abuse Me!!! "

Have you read the guides yet?

Seems to me that you're trying to avoid learning this stuff by yourself and getting others to do all the work for you.

There are extensive guides in the links I posted that will give you an idea of where you have to look in your bios to locate the options.
If anything, make an account, post all your specs on that site and make a thread asking for help overclocking.

Please keep on open mind to learning. Otherwise the greatest teacher in the world wouldn't be able to help you.

Very true. But one should at least take the time to read guides, how-to's, etc if you insist on overclocking.
