how can i tell if my PC is a pc24300 model. cause i want some RAM for it but its only compatible with a pc24300 desktop. i have a DELL Pentium 4 with 2.66GHz Service Pack 2 Windows XP.

PC2-4300 is a type of DDR Ram.

What is the model number of your Dell? I can assume that your Computer only supports DDR400(PC 3200).

and if i already have 512MB of RAM, do i need to buy just one more 512 to get to 1 GB or do i have to buy 2 sticks of 512MB to get 1 GB RAM?
