I used Dreamweaver for syntax highlighting (PHP, Javascript, HTML, JSP), but I never used the interface to build pages. I kick it old school. I'm going to give Notepad++ a try.

It is a great WYSIWYG editor.

Another good one is Amaya http://www.w3.org/Amaya/
It is great and W3 compliant, since the guys who made the software actually make the standard.

I personally just use Notepad++ since I don't do anything from scratch and I'm still learning. I just edit pages a little at a time and refresh to learn what everything does. A lightweight notepad is all I need for this.

Offtopic: Gutya Probationed already?

I use dreamweaver for two reasons;
*The college who are teaching me web development use it
*My work brought me a copy of Dreamweaver 8 to help me with and college work and to help with any site trouble.

Otherwise I would use Context or Notepad++, as dreamweaver costs too much for anyone just playing around with websites.

I use Notepad++ because I hate bulky WYSIWYG editors that take an age to load, Notepad++ has great syntax hilighting and that's really the only extra I need when writing XHTML/CSS/PHP/JS.

I have been meaning to look at that for a while now, even though I write compliant code anyway, it might have some good features.
