Default Why does Firefox hog so many resources?

Whenever I leave Firefox open for a long period of time (several days) it begins to use an enormous amount of memory (right now its using 450 mb). When I close the browser, and reopen it, it doesn't use as much, but is there anyway to fix it without having to restart Firefox all of the time?

It's a memory leak. Mine does it too after a few hours. Why would you have it open for several days?

save it as a Bookmark?

Or if your on 2.0 you can crash firefox (end process in task manager) and it'll come up with the restore session option next time you start it. I do this all the time, its very usefull if I've got multiple tabs open and I want to shut down or reboot and go straight back where i was. It even saves any text entry you were doing.

I used to have an extension that restored my previous session, but it doesn't work with 2.0
I just want to see if there is anyway to fix it. I know I can do all of that stuff, but I'm just wondering if you can fix it.

I don't think you can because mine does the exact same thing. maybe it'll be sorted in a new release.

Yeah, I hate the memory leaks. It is suggested you restart your computer every 1-2 days you know? Just to set things back to start up point...
But if you must keep it, just bookmark it since crash manager doesn't work.
Like twelve, I just end task

The extension TabMixPlus has the option to save your tabs when you close and it will re open all those tabs when you start up firefox again.
I don't use it though. What if the last thing you were browsing was porn, and you just happened to open firefox again while someone was around?
