I have a stop error of this:
c000021a
The session manager initialisation process terminnated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000003a (0x00000000 0x00000000).
the system has been shut down

What files do i n eed to copy across to make it work again?

I have kunbuntu and Win Media Center edition (the one that aint working)

I also have a windows XP pro cd with recovery mode.

Not enough info... Is this appering at boot before Grub, or at start of windows/kubuntu...

after a quick look, this seems to be caused by certain programs access before boot. One case was Norton's GoBack, the others I've seen mostly refer to change admin passwords using a LiveCD to access the windows passwords. After changing and booting, the Security Acounts Manager was blown and needed to be copied from a windows install disc.

just do a restore to when you didnt get that message. i had that problem but i couldnt log off.

I can't ge on, GRUB loads fine, ten if I pick windows, it displays the boot screen, say something about how autocheck is missing, then crashes

I'd try a windows install disk repair. Just cpoy the SAM file from the disk to the HD. Search a guide on google. Otherwise, you'll probably have to reinstall Windows, some label the code as Fatal Error that is unfixable, others did it fine.
