Default [Release] Resonate 0.45

Here is an update to the new rail shooter that I'm working on for psp-hacks.com Homebrew Idol Competition.

Resonate is a fast paced undersea rail shooter. Your goal is to evolve into
a thresher shark and become king of the ocean. On normal difficulty the
player starts as a Sea Urchin (level 2). Hit the blue striped
targets to collect evolution up. Collect eight and move up a level to Sea
Horse (level 3). Miss a target that collides with you and move down to
Zooplankton (level 1). If you're hit too many times, the adventure ends
and you need to try again.

Features

- five hero forms: Zooplankton, Sea Urchin, Seahorse, Stingray, Thresher Shark
- high score tracking for each game
- enemies in various attack formations
- three kinds of power ups
- level editor for Windows, Linux or MacOS based on fltk and OpenGL

I like this game, probably since it resembles Rez. I hope you can build a nice little community here in which they continuously develop maps for this game. I have a question though, what will Go Online be used for?

In this version you can upload high scores, and see your internet rank (also avialble here: http://www.teamsushi.org/games/resonate/hiscores.php ) but I'm working on level upload/download as well. So that would be good I think. That should help to build a community with any luck.

Whenever I press Go Online it says that it requires Build 1.5.

Well I struggled over that message. I think if you put it in the custom firmware folder (game390, etc), it'll work. If not then I'll do another update. Let me test and see.

Edit: yes. That's the case. So if your /psp/game folder is set to run under 1.5 kernel, then you need to put this game in the /psp/game390 (as appropriate for your firmware). Next release, I'll include a 1.5 version as well I guess.

Agreed. Love the 3D

I think the score should be made smaller though. Takes up a bit of the screen.

You can turn off the score with the R-trigger. I originally designed the game to show the score only at the end of the level. If requested I could make it a setting to turn it off by default.

Well this is my 15th game that I've released for the PSP. You can see the 3D ones at my blog and the rest at my homebrew site.

I expect there is more to come.
