Default Mac Laptop iTunes Keyboard Backlight Visualizer

Backlight Visualizer for iTunes on MacOS X

After seeing info on hacking the keyboard backlight of newer Apple portables and someone posting a CPU meter using the backlight, I decided that it would be time to put this into an iTunes plugin.

new and improved: now it can optionally blink the screen's backlight! Use at your own risk.

Get it, use it

First, the mandatory download link. Unzip it and copy the bundle to (your home folder)/Libary/iTunes/iTunes Plug-Ins. To use it, launch iTunes, select "BacklightPlugin" from the Visualizer menu and turn on the visualizer by either clicking its icon in the bottom border, selecting "Turn Visualizer On" in the menu or pressing Command-T.

To enable screen flickering, press the i key while the visualizer runs. Caution! Most probably, this is not what the display backlight was built for. I take no responsability for any damage done to your comuter's screen.

Caveats

This program comes with no warranty. It may crash iTunes, kill your cat or paint your PowerBook beige.

macbook

thats why i was amazed. The macbook performs great while gaming.

also the macbook is better for me because its smaller, but still almost as powerful. and alot of gaming doesnt really affect me that much.

If you want to game get a macbook pro

if you want to save money, play a few good games, have a small computer get a macbook.

Hi,

The Apple service center just scratch my 6-month-young Unibody Mac's Top case really badly and they are not taking responsibility. In fact they told me if the display were broken they will replace the whole top (top case + backlight + LCD + iSight + glass + so on) rather than just that broken part.

So I'm thinking about killing the backlight with this visualizer so I can get a new top case that I deserve anyway.

So can you confirm if Two Years of daily use of this visualizer is adequate to kill the backlight altogether?

Best Regards,

-ND
They wanna play dirty to make me buy a new display (US$899 value), I can play dirty too. I just need some help from hackers.
