It's not the consumer's fault that a retailer sold the game early.

It's actually a 3.4 GB installation and it gets rid of noticeable texture pop-in, so it's seems worth it to wait it out the 7 minutes. That's what all the reviews are saying anyway.Zitat:

I've seen a bunch. Watch the gametrailers review, I'm guessing you have the game but you just don't notice the pop in, which is good. Some people will notice it though. Especially in the helicopter or driving really fast.Zitat:

Most games have textures loading late, I notice them but it in no way annoys me.

It certaintly deserves GOTY in my opinion, whether or not it gets it is another question.
Yeah, after reflecting on my first response; this is probably more of a landmark in gaming then MGS4. In terms of everything. Obviously MGS destroys GTA at certain stuff. But i dont think i've ever seen such a brilliant all rounder. Racing + Shooting + Graphics + Storyline + Multiplayer.
Anyway, one thing thats been bothering me. After seeing the GT review, they mentioned quite a few negatives. Like repetitive missions and a few graphic glitches (heads going through walls). So how can a game get so close to perfect, when its got these draw backs? I know everything else makes up for it, but giving it 10's and 9.8's is rather misleading. But in comaparison to other 9's..i guess this is leagues better.
I honestly don't give a crap about the odd head poking through a wall.

Reviews don't lie. Average score 100/100 based on 13 reviews of all time. Yeah, I'd say it's more than likely the greatest game of all time up until now. After 13 reviews, for it to still have an average score of 100, that's just unheard of.

Not saying it will not be, but for people here to say it is before they touch it is stupid
EDIT: Its probably coming across as I am hating on it, but quite the opposite. I plan on getting it day 1, and may attend a midnight release, which I would never do. I fully expect this game to be great, and I may dip into my funds to have enough for the special edition, again something I would never do.
They got the review scores for a reason, sure there are some negatives, but there must be things that make up for those negative things, right?
I think GTA: IV owns the GOTY, sure there are some games that will beat it in certain categories, most games are centered around one subject (Ex: Racing, Shooter, Sports, RPG, ect...), but GTA has it all. And thats where its nice.
Exactly my point. Have you played it yet to even form that opinion, no but the reviews indicate so far it is. However we are in April, which last i checked is 8 months until the end of the year. 2008 has a bunch of heavy hitters due out and you can not say it "owns" GOTY for quite awhile. I personally don't feel as excited about GTA IV opposed to MGS 4 especially after the MGO Beta, to see the engine on my own tv is amazing. This doesn't mean I won't be playing GTA IV, of course I will, we have it pre-ordered for the 360, but I don't feel the buzz that there was with San Adreas. Still what I've been hearing about it I will be playing it.
Are you for real. But the MGO beta was utterly bad.

I think it's mainly the buzz around school isn't there either, it's just a few of us that are the hardcore gamers but then that gets boring. Plus MGS 4 was the main reason for getting a PS3, and to brag :D. But I just don't feel that same buzz for GTA as I do for MGS
I believe that I read somewhere that the health Icons that you walk through have been taken out. And I don't think you can get health from the hookers.
