So, are you able to access your friends list and such on your phone (360 and PS3), or just through the guide menu on 360? And does the PS3 version support custom soundtracks and in game messaging?

11 Hours Till Gta4 :d
I should've taken tomorrow off from work so I can play and get it. I had to take other days off though, so tomorrow is the only day I'm actually working. Now I gotta wait until after school Wednesday to go buy it =[ Two more days. Two more days.
I've heard the PS3 version will play any songs you have on your HDD, Not sure if this is confirmed yet though.
Three Questions:
Does armour show up on Niko? If he picks it up/buys it is it visually shown? I havent seen any images up to now of him wearing a bulletproof vest.
Also, just like Macca said is In-Game Music and messaging supported on the PS3 one? I know Sky_Ripper tried to answer but i'd like it if someone that has the game could answer. Or has has experience with it.
I noticed that the maps flashes red, and looks like theres some sort of bar that runs along the map.Zitat:
Zitat von FullMetalCat
The health is signified by the green line that circles the left half of the radar, the other half is used for the armour and is shown in blue.
As for visible body armour, I didn't see any when I had some, but I wasn't really looking. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm getting it tommorow :D
In a multiplayer game you can call the people in the game from your phone, their names all appear in the phone book.Zitat:
Zitat von Macca
No, armour is not visually shown on Niko.Zitat:
Zitat von Vee
Someone asked about health, you have first aid packs, restaurants and street vendors to replinish health. You can also call the paramedics via 911 but they charge a ****ing fortune.
Oh and NYYFAN I'm sure you'll agree I'm qualified to comment on the gameplay, just look at my gamertag to the left.
12:01 Tescos.
nuff said.
haha, 13:30ish, but I am on year 10 exam study leave and I have no exams tommorow :D
I am "ill" tomorrow. aha, Nah.. I'm actually ill. But I think i can make it until 12:01.
Nope and for this game, I'd prefer it that way.Zitat:
Zitat von Macca
Sure you would. ;)Zitat:
Zitat von user friendly
Yeah supposively my little brother was 'ill' until I got back from a German exam to find that the last two mini brownies I left for later had disappeared and there no one in the house but him, so unless he is telling the truth and they walked away he won't be getting away with it :D.Zitat:
Zitat von Axxewraith
Not long :D I just have to let my older brother play it first as he's paying for it :D
But I will most probably play Mass Effect and MGO in waiting, whilst "revising" History
OH MY GOD!
In the review video by IGN, when Niko goes bowling, he turns to pick up a bowling ball, LOOK AT HIS FEET! They slide like PS2 games.
Wow thanks for pointing that out man, I didn't notice it until now. You can rest assured that I have disposed of my copy and sent a letter of complaint for Rockstar.Zitat:
Zitat von Sly_Ripper
Game of the Year my ****ing ass.
Damn right, having to go into the dashboard to pause the music during dialog would suck. If it were just replacing the music in the cars it would be great, because as much variety as 200 songs has (which GTA IV has), they will get old eventually.Zitat:
Zitat von Moose Island
Trust me, I want custom soundtracks, just as bad as I want in game messaging but I don't think custom soundtracks are going to suite GTA.
Hmm, i just watched the review video again and didn't see it, must have been a different video i saw it in.
Music should pause during speech, the dev can control it.Zitat:

FIND THE ONE WHERE IT DOES
k
Can't you test it with yours?Zitat:
Zitat von Ciaran_
I was under the impression it was already confirmed that it just plays right over everything.
I'll test it later, not going downstairs just for that. But R* should have set it up to stop it for cutscenes, plenty of other games do it.
Yeah, after searching, it doesn't do "custom in game soundtracks" like PGR3 did, it does "custom soundtracks", ala Dead Rising.
Still cool for multiplayer though, I doubt I would use it for single player. Although, I guess once you beat the game and are just messing around, it would be beneficial.
He's PS3'ing it. As am I.
I'll be 360ing it :D
Year 10 has study leave?Zitat:
Zitat von leejames04
You must be getting it wrong, as they dont. Year 11 does.
Anyway, i'm like 20% more hyped about this game after going to school today. Everyone was talking about it. I just dont get how R* achieve this much pandemonium without hardly any advertising.
I've seen the huge ones in US but theres the odd television and newspaper thing here. Nothing that would get everyone this hyped. Its amazing.
I think he knows if he has study leave or not Vee.
Are you kidding?Zitat:
Zitat von Vee
I've seen over 100 TV adverts in the past 3 days. It's on practically every advert break on most of the freeview channels.
Vee likes to think he's the only person on these boards from the UK and therefore can make up facts without anyone disputing him.Zitat:
Zitat von Phil
I too see the advert every ad break, I really like it too.
You've got GTA IV... and you're watching advert breaks?!?!Zitat:
Zitat von Gutya
Anyway, here's my horrible GTA IV fiasco:
Ordered from GAME about 2 months ago. Last Tuesday they were processing the order, meaning I would have got it today latest. They had our old credit card details, and cancelled the order. No "12 hours to change your credit cards details", just cancelled. And we couldn't re-preorder from them since they had had so many... :(
So we preordered from play.com, but today, realising it would take ages to reach us and it still said preordered, we cancelled it. Tomorrow after school, I am phoning up 2 GAMEs and one Tesco extra where I live to see if they have any copies. If so, my mum will pick it up for me. I doubt the GAMEs will, but I'm hoping the Tesco extra does...
I have year 9 study leave O.O
GCSE's year early :|
Private schooling :/
I dont see that many TV ads, Then again. I hardly watch TV.
You shouldn't have any problems finding a copy of this in a big retailer. My brother-in-law is the store manager of a Target over here and they received 200 copies for the 360 and 125 copies for the PS3.
Go to Asda tomorrow morning or after school. They will have copies in stock.
Back when SA came out I pre-ordered it months in advance, was really worried I couldn't get it on launch. I ended up picking the last one up from the store. My brother was disapointed that he couldn't get a copy, we went into Asda to help my Mother with the grocery shopping on the way home and he got a copy there 10 pounds cheaper. They had shelves full.
Game in Reading only got 50 games and have over 150 preorders...
-= Double Post =-
There's no Asda near where I live :(Zitat:
Zitat von Gutya
Everyone pre-orders at the big game retailers like GAME and GameStation. But Tesco, Asda, etc. will have copies.
OK, Tesco is my best bet, thanks :)
Played online yet Gutya? And how far through the missions are you?
I guess I was trying to be polite but I was mainly getting at Sullivan and Vee, among others. Basically the ones hyping the ps3 version more(which I am buying ),which they could not have played.Zitat:
Zitat von Gutya
Hope they have plenty tomorrow at the store( Circuit City cause you get a 10$ gift card) . I do not have a pre order so hopefully I am not out of luck.
Anyone know what is on the soundtrack in the special edition? Is it all the tracks from the game or just something else?
Yeah I've played online. It's great fun, I really enjoy it. Not enough people have the game yet to play much else other than Deathmatch. I can't wait to play tomorrow though when there'll be plenty of people on.Zitat:
Zitat von El Xando
I did play the Mafiya Work mode though, that was great.
The missions are good, quite varied. The improved combat and shooting system definitley make the missions a lot more exciting this time around.
-= Double Post =-
Not all the tracks, more like a selection of tracks from the game.Zitat:
Zitat von NYYFAN
Our school is doing year 10 mocks as well as the ever famous year 11, to help with predicted grades come next year when we apply for our future (sixth form, college work etc) They can also help in case we miss both the terminal and year 11 mocks to help create oru GCsE grade based on the average around that level taking into accoutn teacher assesment further understanding etc.
Either way I haven't seen any adverts but I haven't been near the TV today :D. Not long now :D
