Back of the box just represents what it's being upscaled to. It's native resolution is 1152x640p. But with that comes some extra benefits. Either way, you can still play it in 720p/1080i/1080p if you want and the average joe won't notice a thing.Zitat:

Just starting off my single player campaign now :)
Fixed when you reinsert the disc.
I have noticed small freezing on my copy (1 second freezing), special edition that is.
I love it, played for about 4 hours straight. The driving has changed a lot, all the cars are a bit hard to drive, the motorcycles are pretty sweet. I went a head and used the weapon cheat, makes it a bit funner. Over all the game is pretty sweet, the realism makes it much harder now, which is also a good thing. Health on your player runs down much faster then other previous version of GTA. Now you accually can get beat up and die quickly. That mission where you chase the guy of the stairs and he has a knife, I failed that mission like 4 times, I had a problem with him, he kept shanking me in my neck. Over all this game is great so far, it may not have needed a 10/10 but its a great buy, and I won't regret getting it, unlike I did with Orange Box.
I like the cover system a lot, I haven't yet got a hang of it yet. One thing I don't like about the head lights, is you should have the option to fully turn them off, they auto turn on when it gets a little dark in some areas, but the function is pretty sweet. I love how you can break away from cops, and the euphoria game engine makes this game sweet.
I haven't had any noticable glitches yet, or bad freezing or lag issues. Overall I have had a great experience playing. Great Game, over filled my expectations.
The driving controls really need some getting used to, seems quite difficult to handle corners, a bit disappointed with those, but I'm sure I'll get used to them.

I did notice that I got a real sense of speed though when you're driving through traffic and things like that. Just like flooring the throttle IRL. Much better than racing games where the speedo tells you you're going 100mph+ but doesn't feel fast because the other cars are all going the same/similar speed and the track's so wide that you don't get the scenery whizzing by.
Ya the driving is horrible, it's so hard to turn into another street, I just cut into the on coming lane and it makes it easier.Zitat:

Yeah. I'm a little disappointed with the driving mechanics... But at least they are not game ruining.
So far I've played for a couple of hours (I'm currently sick :( )
And I really do love the game.
I got a lunch 60GB PS3, and the "Special Edition" GTA IV.
So far no freezing or bugs here.
Haven't tried to play online at all yet...

Is it just me, or does anyone think that some of the gameplay looks better than the cutscenes?
I love it as well, I am proud, first in game day and I did a windscreen throw :D. My brother got the warm coffee achievement with Michelle on the 4th in game day.
I also love the fact you can hear the revs, so when you change gear it actually sounds like it rather than the revs getting higher as you drive faster in previous games. Also you can try and drive like a proper person now with the better AI :D
Oh man, this game is great. I just opened mine, I've been selling them all day. Is it harder to drive for anyone else?
OH and how is multiplayer? I'd give it a shot, but I'm exhausted.

Like Bioware did with Mass Effect, I spent about 45 minutes playing with my TV settings before realising it was a filter in game that was making it look crap. As soon I turned the film grain and blur filters off it looked so much better imo.

I dont know, drving is normal to me. It take about 20 minutes to get used to, but thats just the learning curve. I didn't like the original controls, so I changed them to the classic setting. Alot easier.
Yes, I have gotten the freezes. Although, they only last for about one second, and in about 4 and a half hours of playing time, it's only happened twice ... although not in any heavy environments, in normal driving conditions. I havent taken the disc out tho, so that may be the problem.
Has anyone watched the TV yet?
I watched the Ricky Gervais show, where he talks about war and Stephen Hawkins etc and to me he sometimes doesn't sound like himself as he should. He still looks really life like though.
