I can be on those days too. If I'm not on Live just post in this thread and I'll be on as soon as possible.Zitat:

sux
The game is now freezing on me like crazy. Since this morning. It froze 3 times whilst doing the opening loading, then froze another 2 times in cutscenes.
Its going mad now..hope Rockstar patch it asap.
Does anyone know if the 360 version has the same problems?
There have been a few reports, but not enough to actually confirm it. Could be PS3 owners trying to make the 360 version look as bad as the PS3 (freezing-wise). Doesn't matter though, a patch will be out soon either-console. I personally haven't had any problems on the 360, but a friend of mine had a few problems on his 60GB PlayStation 3.Zitat:

Gah I'm stuck on the Hostile Negotiations mission. I almost had it beat but I died on the way back to the house. ****ing lame.
Frozen once in seven days for me :DZitat:

I have not had one crash/freeze/slow down on my 360 version of GTA.
Yes it affects both consolers.Zitat:

I read something that it had to to with Rendering to the back buffer and then flipping it to the front buffer or something.
Then there was a glitch and it could damage or break your DVD/Blu-ray drive.
This is unconfirmed but it came from tweakers.net (dutch) forums wich are quite reliable.
So I am not playing this game untill a patch is out.
My friend has freezing issues on his PS3. He froze twice so far on the opening loading part.
I haven't had any freezing on my 360 version.
Theres no way in seven days could someone could find that out, tbh i think it's coincidental that there drives broke when playing such a demanding game.Zitat:
Zitat von Savagefreak
Why? If your PS3 broke, you can demand Rockstar/Sony to replace it. After all, they pretty much gave you a disk that ruined it. You didnt misuse it.Zitat:
Zitat von Savagefreak
Matter fact, if someone told me GTAIV did that. I'd purposely do it so that i could get a fresh new PS3.
Um no. Why the hell would they replace it when you have no way to prove GTA IV killed it? Come on now.
grr im starting to doubt if im gona make the "Liberty City Minute"
I got a bit to do yet and im at 20 hours D:
Beat it... Got the Liberty City Minute achievement as well...

Has anyone got 16 players in a game and just free roamed? Is it crazy?
As have I. My PS3 failed to load the save game file about 6 times in a row, until I worked out a temporary fix. If someone needs it let me know.Zitat:
Zitat von Anti-QuickJay
Yeah, I figured out a way. Turn off your console, eject the disc, reinsert the same disc, bamm it works and you don't need to pm tsubi. (Btw tsubi its easier to just say the fix then tell everyone to PM you for the answer.)
I wasn't suggesting a PM. I was suggesting a post on the thread, and what you suggested doesn't fix it every time.
But, because you want me to say it.
1. Make sure you have an alternate account on your PS3.
2. Copy the save game file from your original account to the other account.
3. Delete the save game file from your main account.
4. Eject the disk.
5. Put it back in.
6. Start the game.
7. Quit game.
8. Copy save game file back to where it would have been.
9. Start the game.
10. Play.
How else would you find out besides PMing you for the answer...nvm I see how. Btw what I do fixes the issue for me every time. Whatever works for you, but as you might have noticed that how you fix it pertains to taking out the disc, which might be the reason why its fixed for you. Until we recieve a patch do whatever it takes to make it work for you. But, it seems to me that most of what you said is QUITE unnessecary until we recieve some word from r*.
Of course they would. If there was a sudden influx of PS3 users ringing up to say "Their PS3 died playing GTAIV".Zitat:
Zitat von TeamOverload
Anyone know how many missions there are total in order to beat the game?

Except for the fact that a game is NOT going to kill a system. Period.Zitat:

The fix for the freezing GTA4 on ps3 is easy!
The only thing you have to do is to turn off the auto PSN log-on ! (it's where they ask you your email address and you password. Below this there's 2 questions, un-check the first one) So when you start your ps3 you will not be connect to PSN until you decide to. Now start GTA4 and you will be VERY Happy. If you want to play online, simple go to multiplayer with the cellphone and they will ask you to connect to PSN. Press connect and your good to go.
Why make all that noise for that. I should call SONY. Now i see why the PS3 version was one week behind the X360 one. (miss 1 week of testing)
What are you talking about?Zitat:
Zitat von Razgoull
They both launched on the exact same day.
I know but the PS3 version was one week behind in development. R* said that!Zitat:
Zitat von Phil
Anyone up for playing some multiplayer tonight? I'll probably have a go at the campaign and then go on MP for a while.
Add me if you do, my gamertag is SmeshX.

I have 19 to do in 7 hours, it'll be close.Zitat:
Zitat von granite123
Finished in 28 hours.
Wasn't expecting that to happen though...
Man I am only like 20% done.
Btw, hold LB to whistle for a taxi, then hold Y to become passenger, then select your destination then press A to skip ride. This cuts down your mission time, don't have to do aload of driving then.
Also hold X in any vehicle to make head lights alot brighter.
I'm 5.58% done, only been playing for half an hour, though. :p
