BioShock Discussion - (No Spoilers Allowed)

You can't judge a games length by its achievements...

It's a cool way to see how much you've accomplished and how much more you have to beat to fully beat the game.

I still don't see the awesomeness of achievements, or the gamerscore. It's nice to have but it won't sway me towards a game just because the other doesn't have them.

well i don't have it personally but my older bro does and he is loving it he is at the level after arcadia (that isn't a spoiler is it) and i like the look of it especially the art deco feel in the graphics which helps make it feel like somethign you haven't played before and the hand is cool

That cut scene isn't a actually part of the games story mode

You turn into one right around the end of the game, i don't remember the exact part but i had had to do it very close ot the part when I was on the playground was where I spent most of my days. Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool And all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school When a couple of guys who were up to no good, Started makin trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one lil fight and my mom got scared. She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in bel Air'

Yeah, if anything they are just a representation of how many games you played and how much free time you have.

They are worthwhile in some online games....like gears, you can tell how experienced at multiplayer someone is by how many/which online achievments they have.....but for the most part they are pointless.

Could you not tell by how much the graphics were touched up in that. It was pure CGI.

Also I don't really think spoiler tags are necessary for something you can see before even starting the game.

Lol, so glad that is still on tv.

I think you can watch that drill scene if you let the game menu just sit when you pop it in.

That's the only way to watch it. It's not in the story at all. In fact nothing like that is, all other cut scenes use the in game engine and don't look as good as that.

I spent a good 30 minutes exploring Arcadia last night trying to get into an area on the map I should have. There were about three location. All it took was me to go a little further in the level and the gas killing plants was released. Annoying.

To my question: How do I get into the Farmers Market area that was opened up as a result of this? There's what looks like two ticket counters and two locked gates.

Can't remember exactly but I think there's an elevator to the left of one of the glass doors. I thought it wasn't usable yet because almost everything else automatically opens up for you but there is a switch to the left of it that should take you down.

May not be relevant to your situation, though I think it is.

Just completed this last night, really amazing game with a fantastic story :)

I wont be able to finish it :( Im too addicted to metroid Prime, Ill just have to rent it again another time

I need to get back into it...

I always play games for a bit then finish them months later.

I got to the farmers market and collected the first 7 chemicals.

but I thnk im ****ed because I have no ammo in any guns and accidentally spent all my money on health packs :(

Spoiler for Lag Issues:

I read something interesting online today: In fort frolic, there is a fire splicer that spawns randomly halfway through the level. If you dont kill him, the game starts to lag, but once you do kill him, the game stops lagging. The only thing is, if you forget to kill him or run by him, the lag carries on into the other levels, thus making combat in the game horrible. I have deleted my save and am going to restart the game to kill the *******, and hope the lagging stops. It was making the game unplayable. So make sure to kill any enemies you find:tup:

I played the demo on PC and wasn't too impressed at first, but after I beat the level it played a video and I was blown away. Their demo doesn't do a good job of selling the game but the video after was a big kick in the ass and now I'm definitely buying it

I would buy it but I only have enough money for Halo 3, EA Skate, A new skateboard, and a guitar amp. With money left over to save for a piece of crap car.

great. now the game lags at the beginning as well. Just perfect. Oh well, guess i'll exchange the disc:(

Super Paper Mario is short and easy, you'll beat it in no time (if you haven't already) My brothers GF beat it in 1 day and she doesn't normally play video games.

my game started lagging right after you complete that mission. hopefully it wont do that for you:) if it does, just clear the cache. worked like a charm for me:tup:

I just got bioshock yesterday. :)

I just played Bioshock, and Xbox live downloaded an update for it. Maybe its for the widescreen bug (fingers crossed)

It isn't. I still can't see his clothes on his arm. I've also checked the options and there seems to be nothing new added there.

yea me too:( maybe it had something to do with the lag issue some people were having?

I love the Hypnotize Big Daddy 2 plasmid. It makes life easier having a tank on your side.

Judging from what has happened to me so far the two endings must be pretty different from each other.
