I played the first mission on the big ship, and some of the mission after that, and I thought it was better than COD3, lots of fun, but not GOTY as DFS said. Lots of fun, but I feel it was hyped up a bit too much.
Of course I only played a small part of the game, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
There are a lot of great moments sprinkled through out the game... You have to play the whole thing to appreciate it... It actually has somewhat of a story.
I stand sternly by my GOTY statement.

I can't seem to crack a Kill: Death of 1.25. I think I've plateaued.
I'm trying to get the Grip attachment for the RPD at the moment and get some bonus points for making kills with the the mini-AK sub machine thing I unlocked yesterday.
Just got this game, it is amazing. Just playing the campaign right now.
Is anyone having problems with the online play?
Yes, It's down/not working atm - There's scheduled Xbox Live maintenance today, although I'm not all to certain when that was/is - check majornelson.com maybe
my IP keeps on failing even though i'm on the computer...
If the maintenance is over (Xbox Live) and COD4 doesn't work then it is most likely the COD4 servers, seeing how they are supposedly fixing the PS3 servers...just be patientZitat:

I finally got the Grip for the RPD like I had in the beta. It's now my weapon of choice.
The grip makes it as accurate as an M4 and with Stopping Power as a perk it's pretty much one or two bullets = kill.
Gonna borrow this from my friend whenever he gets around to beating single player, since he doesn't have Live. How long is campaign?
I've probably played it for close to 10 hours, but I'm doing it on Veteran and I'm stuck on the last level.
If you play on Regular or Hardened, you should be able to beat it either under or around six hours.
K, hopefully he'll beat it soon, so that I can try this sucker out :)
Have any websites popped up that allow your in-game stats to be shown on forum signatures, etc.?
I just got this :D I went to get the COD4/Assassins Creed Bundle, but AC wasnt there, so I got a raincheck on that, but they still gave me COD :D

I just beat it, what an awesome campaign, even though it was really short. Cant wait to get y XBL Gold and try out multiplayer
Yeah, I'm supposed to give it back on Monday,but we'll see how caught up in the game I get. I might just have to buy it even once I beat it, just so I can play the online and see how it is :)
The online is where the fun begins.

I can imagine. So far though, I've been blown away even with single player. Definitely better than Halo 3's. If the online is better than H3, then I'm going to go ahead and call this game of the year. For me to say a game is better than Halo 3, when I am a prettyyyyy big Halo fanboy, this is quite an impressive game.Zitat:

Time your flash grenades well, and try to hit every single target without missing to get a 3+ bonus. It will take you a few tries to get used to it, but it shouldn't be too hard.Zitat:

I got the blue tiger camo for my RPD and my KTD over 1.35 tonight.
Finally had a good game. 30 kills, 15 deaths, and 1st place. Another game with a flawed ranking system. A level 10 beating 20's,30's,and 40's and you know you have a problem.
The levels more or less only show what equipment is available to the person, it's not really a good skill indicator. I was level 12 at one point and was owning level 40's.
What's a good place to fall 30 feet to your death? Don't see why that should be rewarded, but apparently it's one of the challenges.
I did it on Countdown, just fall down one of those holes and you'll get it. My friend dared me to do it even though we both thought it wouldn't work, and I was kinda shocked to see that it did :p
Anyway, has anyone done Heat on Veteran yet? Its the part where you have 3 minutes to get to the extractions point thats bothering me :( I just completed One Shot One Kill after about 4 hours of trying to get to this :(

I found that pretty difficult also, but try what I did. Stay in the room before the huge TV Room, and go prone, and keep your reticule aiming at the door. Your team will continue shooting the others in the room, and wipe out most of them. The enemy will occasionally try to come to you, but place claymores near the door, and just keep shooting them as they come in. After a while you will notice that there is less shooting, so nows your time to go in an carefully take care of the rest that your team didn't manage to take down.Zitat:

I tried that once, but it didnt work. I only tried it once though, so Ill probably keep doing that. Also, there are way too many TVs to smash to get the acheivement.
