Microsoft needs to put up that patch, NAO... It is virtually impossible for me to play with friends. I have one friend, who's games I can't join, and another, who can't join mine (Ratjar)...
F'in BS yo...
I was getting over 20 kills each match and less than 5 deaths this morning for each round (except when I played shipment) :o (was 50-17 on shipment, would've died less if it weren't for those random grenades thrown on that map so much)
Meh, I use Martyrdom. Get's me a couple of kills each game.
So what if it's noobish (which it isn't), it gives me kills, why not use it?
Because it's a perk that actually rewards people for sucking. At least with Last Stand or something, you still have to execute the kill. With martyrdom, you just have to die somewhat close to somebody...
The point of the game is to stay alive, so I only use perks designed to keep me that way.
I usually equip Last stand, Juggernaut, and RPGx2 with an M16 with red dot scope. Right now im trying to get rod dot fr G3 though, and I am really not used to the gun, I hate how it fires one shot at a time (cuz usually im aiming for mid-body or lower, I suck at headshots)
W/e, I'm just happy knowing that the sucker that knifed me is dead within a couple of seconds of me dieing.
Knife kills are the easiest to escape from martyrdom. The ones that get me are the ones from about 20 meters in a doorway or something and once I srop them, I run up and die. (Without the frag symbol showing up.)
At least with a knife kill, you can pick it up and throw it or high tail it out of there.
It really does reward dying, which I don't like.
I can understand your argument, but it's there, why not use it if it get you an extra kill or two? Yeah, it's noobish and whatever else you want to call it, but if I had a choice between a kill or no kill by using it, kill please.
Go play some Hardcore Deathmatch and see how friendly your teammates become when you use martyrdom.
**** my teammates, I'm using martyrdom whether they like it or not. I don't play CoD4 with my headset anyway, except when I'm playing with friends.
At the end of the day, you can carry on moaning about others using it, but we're the ones getting extra kills from it.
Nobodies moaning son, but you sure are getting all salty defending your use of it.
I don't need it to get extra kills, which you can check for yourself in the barracks.
You ain't my father.
I get extra kills with my gun... Because I don't die... And I don't have to rely on dying to get kills.
But if you did die, which of course is very rare for your superior being, you could get a kill, no?
Yeah, but then I'm taking up a perk slot... A slot that could be used for Steady Aim, which probably could have helped keep me alive.Zitat:

Why the hell does it matter what perks you use? Use any perk that you like. If you don't like someone elses perks, deal. You're free to use it too.
I don't care what he uses... I'm just telling him why using it makes him a loser...Zitat:
Zitat von TeamOverload
Last Stand is basically like playing a game of Basketball, where when one team scores, the other team automatically gets to shoot two free throws.
Now replace the two free throws, with a wide open lay-up, and you have martyrdom.
I enjoy being a loser, it gives me an extra kill when I die.
Surely if you are as good as you say in the first place then you won't need Steady Aim. Which does leave a slot open for Martyrdom.
Ok, while your busy giving the other team points because your best offense is death, I'll be racking up mounds of kills, and giving up a minimal amount of points.
That's the thing, I don't just run in scouting for death. IF I die, then I may get an extra kill. I try as hard as possible not to die, but it's inevitable that I will.
You go on about how noobish it is to use Martyrdom, when you too are using perks to increase the chance of getting a kill. Martyrdom is a perk, which does what any other perk does, helps you obtain kills. And you can argue that it takes no skill, but neither does going into a menu and selecting 'Steady Aim'. You're not the one steadying your aim, the computer is. So all in all, skill has nothing to do with the matter.
I've become imune to Martydom when I play (as in I rarely get killed by it), so that means other players can become "immune" as well. In that slot, I want something that I know will work all the time, hence why I choose Deep Impact - it helps a ton when all I see is a sliver of a gun sticking out from behind a wall...I am and fire and the person is dead before they even realize it.Zitat:

I personally hate Martydom, requires you to die for it to take its effect and I know when I'm on a 20 kill streak that I don't want to die just so I can get another kill - I want to stay alive and I do for most of the matches I play with only averaging 5 deaths (cept on shipment..I hate that map :/ )
I personally think Martydom takes no skill - you're not killing the guy with your gun, which is the point of a FPS game
Well put.Zitat:

DFS, you are making it seem like people who use martyrdom just run and kamikaze in. I use it and that's not what I do. I can rack up streaks and such just like anyone else before I die. I use strategy and work with my team. Once I die, martyrdom simply helps give me a chance to pick up an extra kill or two.
But for those that have not yet become immune; boom! ;)Zitat:
Zitat von FrozenIpaq
Frozen's right most people see it comming. Then again i'm not much of a team player, so anyone who gets blown up. is ok with me.
But martyrdom doesn't require you to do squat... You could literally never touch your trigger button the entire round, and still end up with a few kills. Steady Aim just aides me, if somebody ever takes me by surprise. I can stay alive, keep them from getting any points, and keep a streak alive to earn perks for the rest of the team... I still have to aim my reticule, and pull the trigger, Steady Aim just makes my bullets actually go where I aim... That still requires... Hell, your eyes to be open, and your hands to be on the controller.
Martyrdom requires you to die for you to get any use out of it... It's completely counter-intuitive to the mechanics of the game.
-= Double Post =-
Martyrdom only becomes a problem when I encounter multiple people at once... Sometimes, when you kill somebody, you can't just run away immediately... Some times, there is a second person, who will shoot your ass if you run. So While I'm busy taking out another guy, I'm about 1 second away from dying, because some gutless douche bag, who doesn't have the ability to kill me, and stay alive, gets rewarded because I killed him.
Once again, you can use it, because I still destroy anybody who does use it, it's just a nuisance that gets in the way... And if you use it, you should probably go play another game, because you clearly suck at this one.
I only use martyrdom for specific classes and ways to balance them out. Ex: (Sniper: Barrett .50 cal, Claymores, UAV Jammer (sometimes Juggernaut), and Iron Lungs)
i use that **** that makes me reload faster.
That was one of the reasons why I switched to the RPD in the beta. I was always dying while in the act of reloading. You rarely have to reload with that LMG, and when you do, just find a safe corner to do it in.Zitat:

That's Sleight of Hand, which is on the second tier of Perks...Zitat:
