It's not unbalanced for this reason:
The stock weapons come with perks.
Your initial setup gives you one of the better guns in the game, M16, with:
Perk 1 - Grenade Launcher
Perk 2 - Stopping Power
Perk 3 - Extreme Conditioning
If you can't hack it to level 4 using that setup, you should have yourself removed from the gene pool.
It's stupid that it's level 4.
It only takes a few matches to get there so why not make it level 1?

The levels get harder to obtain as you go. Kinda like every other game with lvls.Zitat:

Being a higher lvl just gives you a bigger variety from what I see from playing at my friends. You can still get good stuff at a low lvl.
You can still get to lvl 4 even if you lose games...
Now I can't even play, thanks to Microsoft's ****ty ****ing LIVE service. I'm unable to recover my account which I need to do, so I'm stuck between two consoles, without a full account on either of them, so I can't transfer by memory card either. I'm not a happy camper right now.

I think it's because of the way cod4 finds matches.
Call of Duty plays poorly right now but I can still find a match. Just not as fast.
However my gears of War plays normal and so does Madden and Halo 3.
Its just Call of Duty 4 is giving me the crappy time right now.
I can find a match in about 2 seconds.
No, COD4 has one of the worst multiplayer lobbies, EVER. Why couldnt they do it like Resistance or Warhawk? Where it shows the room names and you select the one you want and at any time, you can jump into the game your mates in or they can jump into yours. No need to toss about with invites. Also, why can you only let the computer randomly select a game for you?!
There should be a patch in less than a week... It's supposed to fix these problems.

I find it best to cancel searching matches if they take too long. Just cancel it, then select a game mode again. Do that a few times and you'll find a match in no longer than 3 minsZitat:

Anyway, the 360 and PS3 patches fix different things, so even if I post the 360 fixes, that doesn't help you anyway.
