CoD4 Discussion Thread.

As I said, no need to worry, yo **** ain’t broke. There’s just a large number of people hitting Xbox Live to download the new maps. This shouldn’t effect any other aspect of Xbox Live or the Marketplace from what I’ve seen (not official, just my observation). You’ll probably be able to wait it out as more people get the maps today, but just in case we’ve made sure to let our friends at Microsoft know and as always they’re already addressing.

In other news “AROUND THE WEB”… for those of you foaming at the mouth to redeem your Game of the Year Edition code for your Map Pack Token, you will be able to do that later today at http://gameoftheyear.callofduty.com. As you know they originally had it set up to redeem on the 10th, but I made sure we got that debunked and changed to the 4th for you guys but it looks like the earliest they could get the code > token redemption going was tonight. I’d keep checking back mid-day just to see, but I wanted to let you guys in the loop on the status.

For those of you who have already downloaded the maps, you can expect to see some Hardcore Playlists with the new maps popping up in the very near future, maybe today… if not, then next week.

XBL marketplace just says there are no games available when I go to the Game Store

Thats what it says for me also, I guess alot of people are going to buy the new maps.

Yup XBLM as a whole appears to be acting funky, with a highly anticipated map pack for the currently most played game on 360, what do you expect?

The new maps are solid. Creek is setup so people who suck at sniping, think they can snipe. I've been running around with a silenced weapon and UAV Jammer shredding people.

I think I'm gonna rebuy COD4...

I just bought Socom 3, and as much as I loved the series, it's damn rough... I miss competitive online gaming, and I'm not sure Socom 3 or GTA 4 will fill that void.

Hell, I miss good online gaming in general... Too Human should fill that void nicely, but who knows when that's coming out.

Meh, Creek is probably my least favorite. I really wish they had Killhouse in the dedicated Variety Map pack playlists, it doesn't make sense why they don't.

It's too small I think.

Yeah, I guess. It is pretty small, but if it's never going to get played online, it's kind of a pointless map :/ Shame because it looks pretty sweet.

Its bigger than Shipment :p

Where Can I play killhouse? No I have tried Variety deathmatch and objective, and It has not come up yet. Its the only new map I havent tried.

I love BroadCast and ChinaTown though

I think you can only play Killhouse in Cage Match and Team Tactical.

So say I download these maps using my other GT, i'll have no problem playing them on my normal one right?

The double points on the new maps is nice. I've gone from a 40 to a 45 so far today.

Its got me playing COD4 a lot more. Im liking S&D on Creek most, in almost every game I get over 1500 exp.

I like it as well. It's Creek that I can't stand. Freaking' campfest like crazy.

I just rented COD4, and downloaded the maps, and man, do I regret that... These maps are pretty underwhelming.

I knew I should have rented Lost Odyssey.

I'm not a fan of Chinatown, but I can deal with the other two. Once they go into the regular rotation, it won't be that bad.

I don't know, I did really good on Creek the first time, but that was because no body was camping... The second time, it was a snipefest, and it sucked, hard.

Chinatown is meh, not good, not bad.

The TV station one (Broadcast I think it's called) still confuses me... I've played that one 4-5 times, and I still don't know where I'm going most of the time. Same thing with Chinatown, actually...

Tried Team Tactical for an hour, and couldn't get the 4th new map, so I don't know what that's like.

Just back out of the lobbies until you catch the new map. It's small.

Also, for Creek, 9 times out of 10 I run around with a silenced P90 with UAV Jammer. You'll get 20 kills no problem with that setup.

Just tried out the new maps yesterday. I like Creek..when you spawn up by the house, not when you spawn by the barn :/ First thing I did was go ontop of the house, great sniping position but I decided that sniping just doesn't get me enough kills..so RPD setup and I raped house. I don't stay in one spot too often so even if they see me on radar, by the time they get their I'll be gone - that's my theory.

Chinatown is crazy...Broadcast is huge and took me a while to get used to the layout (have played it twice and have a good understanding of the map already)

Was the Double EXP thing supposed to end Sunday? Because its still going on, I'm leveling up like crazy.

Who said they're free?

They aren't free, they're just in all the playlists. You just get put in rooms with people who have the maps so that they can come up in regular random rotation...

there already free, you need game of the year edition get the maps free.
When I did google search some gamestops, or ebgames offering the code for the maps
for free.
*the gamestop giving maps free was posted on another forum, so I don't know if it true or not.*

I thought all maps on xbox live are free when new maps come out?
Just like halo 2/halo 3

I just got em, and have only tried Chinatown and Broadcast.

They don't seem like the older maps
most of the original cod4 maps seemed to be design with a team on one side and a team on the other.
Once the game gets going in these two maps, you have to watch yourself at EVERY angle, you never know with way they're coming.
