so michael pachter did a little foot-in-mouth number recently, dissing at the team bondi staff who complained of unpaid overtime. you know what happened next: team bondi declared bankruptcy and pachter apologized for his faux pas.
apart from the question of whether or not his apology is enough, what should also be looked into is this predominant practice of overtime without pay for the devs. what can be done to keep this from happening again? it is, without a doubt, unfair, of course. and the big companies are obviously the ones responsible for it.
do you think there are enough safety mechanisms in place to prevent this from happening to the poor game devs?
