Check out the list of nominees for the upcoming Spike TV video game awards.

The nominees for the upcoming Spike TV video game awards have recently been revealed. Additionally, it has been confirmed that several celebrities will be in attendance at the event. The show, set for November 18th, 2005 will feature Samuel L. Jackson as the host, with a guest list set to include Snoop Dogg, Carmen Electra, Vin Diesel, The Rock, and musical appearances by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Why do they have games that haven't been released for game of the year nominations? Surely that goes against the whole point of the show?

They will be out way b4 the show. I remember last years show when they came out and showed of some PSPs. Then they said that u could import them on Ebay. Then everyone watching the show left and went to Ebay.

...ugh, this looks awful, not only are there some things that are from 2004(World of Warcraft?), but it's generally awful, awful choices...

let's hope this is a rumor, these things shouldn't be planned so early, and the game of the year category is so sad and fugly it makes me want to cry

These people don't know anything, about anything. They're putting up games that will only have been released days before the show airs? How can you nominate a game that hasn't even been finished yet? No one has idea how they play at all, they could end up being flaming piles of excrement.

This is nothing but big name corporate swine paying for extra publicity.

EDIT: Lol and King Kong won't even be out until 3 days after the show. How does this make sense to anyone?

this has got to be the most ass backwards award show ever
and how can the xbox360 be voted the best breakthough technology if it comes out one the 22nd and the show is on the 18th i cant decide on if it's a breakthrough by playing a demo system

Considering GUnstar SUper Heroes is three times the game as all of those handheld games, they have no clue what real games are.

I do find it stupid that they have games that arent even out yet, and wont be out in time for the show, and the fact that they have 50 Cent on there. Now thats easily been paid for by "fiddy's" men to be on there, expeailly since the other games that arent even out yet have atleast have had a playable demo.

yea and too many 2004 titles are on there.
