I've got a few questions about the iPod Touch. I'm getting one on wednesday for my birthday, and I want to get a few things cleared up.
1) What's the Touch's build quality like? Reliabilty etc.
2) Can Apple detect that you've Jailbroken your iPod if you send it to them for repairs? (After restoring to 1.1.1/1.1.2/1.1.3)

1. Very good. Made out of Metal mostly. Screens glass. So you dont want to drop it screen first. Get a case.Zitat:

Cydia Packager, Installer replacement, is out. google it since I cant c/p a link. Its also is in iptf in the ipod touch mods section.

the PSP & DS icons are quickstarts the WMWiFiRouter program to turn my phone into a Wifi HotSpot for internet access.
The icons look much smoother on the screen..

I have my ATT 8525 skinned like the Iphone....all the icons are completely configurable. Even allowing to tweak Font & Shadow colors. As they say "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".
It is now in the 2nd release stage and much faster in terms of slide animation and when opening the programs.
All you have to do is open the .cab from your phone to install.
BOOTLEGGER i did this to my 8125 it looked awesome for like a couple of weeks and then i went to WM6 ROMs nice job though..
does that mean you are no longer using it? I have WM6 on my 8525 and I still am able to use all this software.

My dad has this phone and he has the slide to unlock mod for it. It's a pretty nice phone and has everyting he needs for work on it. He was going to get an iphone, but he sometimes needed powerpoint, or word on the go, even though he has a laptop. Plus, his work has verizon, but he could have joined our cingular plan.

1.1.4, it has a higher max volume, a few bug fixes, and Safari works better with multiple tabs. When you first JB, install Cydia packager, fake bsd, and whatever you do NEVER install BSD. Cydia is a Debain APT package manager, like installer but better. Whats nice also is when scrolling through packages it has the a-z bar at the side to allow for fast scrolling with out swiping your finger across the screen for half an hour.Zitat:

If you are worried about BSD subsystem and apps that need it, dont, because this has something better and newer. There arent many sources, yet. SkylarEC is going to convert the ipodtouchfans repo to work with Cydia this weekend.

Edit2: Cydia moves your apps and fonts when installing, so you dont need to use bosstool.

I'm getting an iPhone soon and giving my touch to my brother...It will be on AT&T, but is the jailbreaking process similar to that of the ipod touch?

What's the best way of Jailbreaking from 1.1.3? I never got around to doing it back then. Is there another way to do it now, since the new updates and whatnot.
ZiPhone if you have an 8gb, 16/32gb iPods should be soft updated. I suggest going to 1.1.4, as its pretty much the same but with a better Safari, higher volume limit, better lyrics, and other unknown bug fixes. You should install 1.1.3 SvPatch from blaze's source so you can install all 1.1.3 apps as they all work.Zitat:
