Whats the best way, for me to get a replacement iTouch from Apple?

I mean, my iPod works but my warentee runs out in Dec. How can i break the iPod, so that Apple send me a new one?

I've thought of removing system files, but cant that be fixed with a restore? Or leaving it in water, but i'm sure they can see its got water in it.

Why do you want a replacement iPod Touch? Restoring it will reinstall all the system files. Apple can notice water damage and that'll void your warranty. There's really no good way to break it.

He wants a replacement because he can get one for free with his warranty (although that's not how it is supposed to work, he's cheating the system) - a fresh new ipod with no scratches or wear and tear on the battery is good to have

I mean, SSH into your iPod and delete something? Surely that will just brick your iPod in a jailbroken form? Or saying its melted because you put it in the dock?

Wait 9 days. The new one will be announced and in stores then. Just get a budget phone for now.

Do people really even use 3G, or EDGE on the iPhone? First of all, it's slow as hell, and second of all, you can pretty much get wifi almost anywhere.

3G is really good in the UK. Can't really get wifi unless you pay for it.

At what speeds... I live in oakland county where the did the whole county with wifi. But it goes slower than 128 kbps and does not worth with anything but a laptop. Yes I can get wifi everywhere I go but it sucks ass and major ass that is. there are tons of prive wifi networks out there but there not going to be cracked unless I bring a laptop with me then sit for about a few hours and it really pointless.

I went for a Samsung F700v, it was about the same price for what I see as pretty much the same phone with a better camara. I only have 4 GB memory on it as of now but I can upgrade to 16.

It also has a proper QWERTY pad on it, and besides that the rest is pretty much all touch screen.

I live in the middle of London. WiFi is everywhere, but its costs like mad.

Nice phone serideth, looks like a awesome alternative.

Nice, that things is great it has a HSDPA 7.2MB connection speeds, if you can find a fast connection is great for surfing the internet.(tho from what i hear there no unlimited data plan or where you live)

But on the con side, The U.I isent has fuiled such as when scrolling threw a ton of concats. Also the fact it cant do youtube(or stream video) or have basic video support such as .mp4 or divx,have a tv out, have stereo bluthooth, no Wi-Fi. PLus it price point and the fact I dont live in london made me not get this phone.

O let not forget the fact you cant hack it...

I've been using my iPod Touch for just over 6 months now, and I love it.
But I'm convinced that, since the new iPhone 3G is going to be so cheap (uhhm... in comparison to the old model) and mainly it's actually coming out in Australia (and the network I currently use), I'm going to get one.
My birthday is 2 days before launch so I don't mind waiting a couple of days (and chipping in a few hundred bucks to help out...).

It's worth it
Also it'll be good to have the ability to develop on both platforms.

Probably not. Apple still gets around $450-$500 a phone, ATT pays the extra amount to bring the price down to $200. That's why you have to activate in-store, ATT makes the money back with monthly payments.

after trying the spore demo thing for PC, im actually kinda looking forward to the release for touch/phone. Is there a release date yet?

I just unlocked + Jailbroke my iPhone with ZiPhone. Was pretty easy, just had to upgrade to 1.1.4 first.


I'm on 1.1.2 JB on my iTouch, can i just upgrade to 1.1.4 then use the "Jailbreak" feature on ZiPhone? Is it the quickest/easiest way to jailbreak? Does 1.1.4 need much patching?

Use you can upgrade,but you be better of doing a restore update things work better when it a clean start.
