Hi, I just got my iPhone 3g a couple weeks ago and i know nothing about jailbreaking it.
I want to know how safe it is and what the risks are...
I have ziphone but i dont want to use it until i know the risks and everything.
Im live in Canada and have rogers...dont know if that matters but w.e lol

Ok so that worked to jailbreak my iPhone but now I can't actually use it as a phone. Whenever I go to the phone app it shows all the buttons but no words. Then like 5 seconds later it crashes. And it happens everytime. I can phone people from my contacts list and recieve calls but it doesn't show the call screen. Just the home screen and that touch to return to call button. Then the only way to hang up is to shut the iPhone off. Males me very angry so if anyone can help me that would be great.
Edit: Ok ive restored my iphone so i dont need help with it but if anyone wants to reply about this go ahead i guess...i dont want to jailbreak my iphone again

I just got my iphone set up. Just wondering, what is the odd ring that appears in the status bar to the right of my provider? It is sometimes a ring and otherimtes it is hollow. Is it the gps indicator?
Is there any way for me to go from 2.0 to 2.1 without losing any data? I'm hearing "go upgrade to 2.1 then use quickpwn", but then I'll lose all my apps, yeah? Is there anyway for me to upgrade without spending two days hunting for cracked and legit apps?
BTW, Mad, what's that weather app? DO WANT.

That theme looks alot better than it actually is, its pretty annoying how it only has 3 icons. Almost impossible to use, and kind of pointless and time consuming if you really want to use it :(
That's the gprs icon, its the network basic phones use to connect to the internet, slower then egde. Sometimes its just a ring because of the status bar, just like the battery is white on the home screen and green on other screens.Zitat:

How does one transfer the screen shots you take with your iPhone? They move to my Pictures application but i dont get how i can transfer it, besides SSH.
Not sure about you but I do just the same way that I transfer camera pictures, copy and paste using windows explorer...

Oh, OK, I sorted it. I was being incredibly thick and changing the setting for lockscreen!

ummm...I still don't get it. How do I make it look like mad's? Mine is at the top right corner next to the power indicator.
Can someone help me with intelliscreen? I have it working fine, it's just that by default I want my lock screen to be as if it isn't installed, but when I press the home button or whatver, I want intelliscreen to show, and then when I press it again, it will disappear.
Is this possible? And can someone tell me the controls for using it?

Ridiculous. Do they not realise that more people own 1G's then 2G's? So they have a bigger market if they make it for both.
On the topic of cases, if you have an iPhone 3g I say you should get the incase slide. It's been about a week and I really like it, very thin and nice texture.
Is the IncaseSlider worth getting for the iTouch? I'm using a Griffin iClear right now and i'm wanting something different. That RebelTouch would have been perfect..but it isnt available for iTouch 1G.
