Should be a free update for ANYONE on 2.0.0 right? Like the update doesn't check to verify that you have actually purchased 2.0 through iTunes at all?

What's the name of a program that backs up all your music and videos on your ipod/iphone? I installed Vista 64 and I want to sync my iPhone but I don't want to erase...I had it before but I can't remember the name of it.

i was putting apps on my ipod and the sync screen freezed with the spinning wheel... and now i have rebooted and it is stuck on the apple logo..

FFS apple...! this is ridiculous........ now i have to restore for the 15 time or something

They seem to have really ****ed up when its come to updates.

Facebook just revealed they hit a million downloads but i'm sure half those are just people re-installing the application because it keeps failing so much.

Can you install "hacked" appstore applications (.ipa) on a non-jailbroken iPhone?

no, cuz you need to SSH them in, and you cant get SSH on a non jailbroken ipod

Well, I just read on another forums that Apple just blocked syncing "hacked" apps on iTunes 7.7.1, what if I tried to use plain 7.7 to sync them?

Well i dont know then, the only way I know of to get apps for free is SSHing and changing permissions, but if there is some other way, I wouldnt know, so your better off just going off what you read I guess

Havent noticed anything immediatly, but nothings frozen/crashed so i'm guessing its good.


Why hasnt anyone made a application that allows us to see the contents of the iPod via USB? So like SSH but through the USB cable?

It seems like the next logical step, especially when its so much faster and easier.

Just some more info:

Again, a clarification in layman’s terms :-

* If you own a first generation (2G iPhone), no matter what you do now, you don’t have to worry, the next PwnageTool will get you where you want even if it you prematurely updated. 2G is completely pwned at every conceivable level and you’ll always be OK. But if you own a 3G iPhone and are looking for unlock in the near future, don’t use Apple’s update yet!
* If your 3G iPhone is on a regular contract and you always plan to be with the carrier then you can update but you will lose the jailbreak and access to third party (non AppStore) applications.
* If your 3G iPhone is not on a regular contract and you plan to use it on an alternative network to the carrier that supplied it then do not update unless you do it with the impending PwnageTool update.
* PwnageTool v2.0.1 does not work with version 2.0.1 of the iPhone or iPod update from Apple.
* We will release an update to PwnageTool when the testing has been completed and all applied changes have been checked for safety.

So right now, 2.01 cannot be jailbroken by WinPwn, it can be by Pwnage Tool.

You have nothing to worry about upgrading, unless you have a 3G iPhone. In which you might have trouble with it being unlocked.

I just found this:

You can now have more than one wallpaper at a time on your springboard, and they fade in and out its pretty cool

Download the attatched file and put in in your theme's folder (change the extension from ".txt" to ".html"). make a new folder in your theme's folder and name it "Private". put the two wallpapers you want to use in there and name one "Rock.png" and one "Plant.png". make sure the first letters are capitalized! also make sure to delete the old wallpaper.png from your theme if it is still there. then you should respring and you should have an animated background.

I've heard Firmware 2.0.1 keyboard lag was gone and it was booting up much quicker :). But Still, I'm not looking forward to upgrading to it... I don't want to sync in all my stuff again .

To fix this, you need to SSH into your iPhone/iTouch and copy in a special MobileInstallation file in to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framew ork/ then change the permissions to 0775 and you'll be able to sync the "hacked" apps & games with iTunes into your iPhone or iTouch again.

None of them uses it. Oh and don't use Mocha VNC, Teleport is better :)

Legit 2.0 is $10, and yes, your ipod keep the app store. Apple wouldn't make you pay $10 for one update and then in the next take all the features away.
