Nope. I was going to buy a whole new housing for it from eBay for $30 but then I found out about the light leaks as an excuse to get a new one :D. The guy at the Apple Store was like WTF at the iPhone's condition haha :ROFL:. As far as I know, jailbreaking only touches software, not hardware. The only problem I can see would be if something goes wrong with the hardware and you can't restore it, but I've jailbroken 3 iTouches and one iPhone and it has never happened to me.Zitat:

100% safe as it is offical, yes Pwn will allow one to install software not aproved by Apple and you save $99 but you take the risk, the risk is not great but they is a risk of bricking, if you do Pwn, read the instructions fully and do what it tells you, don't divert in any way and you should be ok.
If not a developer then the only option is AppStore or Pwn for unapproved iPhone Apps

wtf is going on???? I just tried to update my installer and now ALL my app icons are gone, the only things that are on the menu are the home menu bookmarks that I made. And I know that the touch hasn't been restored and all the apps were deleted because it happened WAY to fast for that to be a possibility (it restarted w/in a couple of seconds). Already tried clicking on the book marks, nothing happened, tried bringing up the music player thing and hitting 'music', nothing happened. I also tried hard rebooting (aka power on and off). So if anyone knows whats going on, help me please.

My first app has made it onto Cydia, W00T celebrate; all that jazz.
It isn't the bestest game ever made but I am really proud of it and it is the first time that something I have made has got a good response download wise.
It is being hosted by the ModMyi repo, MMi.
The game is called iGuess, it's basically a simple random number game but with two modes:
uGuess - Guess the iPhone/iPod's number,
iGuess - See how long it takes for the iPhone/iPod to guess your number.
There is still some major work before it is App Store ready this includes:
Sorting out the iGuess mode guessing Algorithm,
Add option screens to both modes to increase difficulty,
Completely redo the UI, including swiping to switch modes and random question mark placements, that may even move :).
I have some screenshots, yes I know the UI isn't amazing, but that is going to be redone.

The About view, for some reason I'm really proud of that.

MY GF's brother just got a brand new 32GB iPod Touch yesterday and I updated it to 2.2, and after importing countless Dance/Trance albums onto it he said can I put games and stuff on it, then I immediately thought of Jailbreaking it... but I'm a sort of noob to the iTouch and I found out it's a 2G so it's a no-go at the moment, reminds me of the PSP when FW 2.0 came out for the browser and everyone was stuffed until MPH came through, well I'll wait for now :)

Also, does anyone know of how/if it's somehow possible to connect the iPod Touch to the PS3 like you could do with previous generation iPods, or are we screwed because Apple changed the chipset which altered this functionality?

think it is not so easy for the itouch, my friend tried and the fille names got changed...his iTouch is cranky now.....anyone who know, pls update us.

I just prefer watching stuff from my iPod/iTouch on my PS3 because of the huge amount of storage space that I'm not even going to fill up with just music, so I might as well have some other use for it :)

I want an iPhone for Xmas, but Im not eligible for an upgrade til Feb, so my mom went to the Att Store, and little did I know, they charge extra money on the Iphone if your not eligible for an upgrade, and the guy told her its an extra $100 on each model. So that would mean $299 for 8 gig, $399 for 16 gig. Which is surprisingly cool with her. Now the Att website actually says its $399 for 8 gig, and $499 for 16 gig, which is insane. But now Im confused, was the guy at the store correct, or is the website correct? I posted on the Att support forums, and Im getting mixed answers.

No, that requires you to UNLOCK the phone, jailbreak is something different.

The iPhone-Dev-Team, the team behind the pwnge tool (jailbreak tool), have finally unlocked the iPhone 3G with a baseband before 2.11.x this means that if you didn't update your iphone 3G it should be unlockable but if you are buying a new iPhone 3G then you may not be able to unlock it.
Also Jailbreaking your device does open your device up to more applications through Cydia or the less commonly used Installer.

wellllll....I finally crossed over and upgraded to the 3g iphone....after being a Slave to M$ for the last few years...now I'm Steve Job's b*tch. Was eligible for an upgrade since april....really had high hope's on the ATT Fuze....but damn....then I saw the Iphone 3g 16gb with the white shell.
Brought it home got it out of the box and played with it for a about an hour......meh. Had to jailbreak...and now using iSkull theme.
Was wondering if any talk of turn-by-turn directions will be coming soon. Is it me or is does the Gps seem off mark by about 50yards?
And finally can anyone direct me to some good guides for browsing to my iphone from PC and placing themes directly into /themes folder.

If you have an iPhone 3G, you should use G-Map. It doesn't need a WiFi connection because the maps are all built in unless you have an iPhone 2g... It isn't perfect yet but it will be on later releases. It's just missing a couple things like no voice directions.Zitat:
