How much benefit is there to jailbreaking the 2.0.1 iphone?
and does it void your warranty, or if you **** up the phone can you always restore it before you send it back?

If you upgrade to 2.01, your baseband gets updated meaning no unlocking. But as far as i know, you can jailbreak 2.0 and you'll be fine.

I'm on the original iPhone, firmware 2.01 with an O2 sim card -> so no need for unlocking.

Oh snap, can you save mp3's straight to your music and play them?

You can download, but due to iTunes being a hard ass, you have to copy the song to your PC first and then sync.

Or, you can use the plugins media player to just play the song w/o downloading it.

When you go to a file it will give you 2 options:
Save File or Play Using Media Player

I have recently got quite far in an app that I have made with the SDK, however I do not own the full standard SDK and cannot transfer it to my iPod, however I know the way to overcome this, except I cannot find the LDID on Cydia and nowhere talks about how to find it. Is anyone else facing this.

All the sources I have are the ones that came with this from the new Pwnge tool.

No. As WinPwn is just affecting the downloaded firmware and iTunes. The rest is down to the official software of Apple; iTunes.


So its pretty much like upgrading normally. Just with a custom firmware.

The process of jailbreaking is pretty much exactly the same on iPhone, iTouch and iPhone 3G. Just a few things you need to change when building the .ipsw

If anyone needs help with jailbreaking, i'm happy to help. I'll also update the first page with links to tutorials.

How does this look for a theme so far? We plan to make it a full theme, but we want to know if people would use it.

Yes you have to respring....once you choose a theme in winterboard and close it out it will auto respring for you ;)
