[YAMT] Whew.. Linksys routers can be a handful.
Whew.. what a day, fixing PCs then my own router. Well.. today was the day I studied more. I used to use Ahmans firmware, however the new DDWRT 23 has all those options and more. Including the overclocking.. now I already read up that it was a 50/50 chance it would be fine.. sure enough.. mine failed... for a couple hours I worked to recover it. Thank god for knowing about boot wait modes.
So got some good experiance there with how recovering a bricked linksys is. (I have a WRT54G v2.0) Well got it working again, then started to set things up. Now I am just toying into the unix part of it, getting some scripts, learning about how fileshare hosting works etc. Kinda interesting all the new things to control. I just hope it does the one thing they claim it should fix, and thats the getting overloaded with connections that are no longer valid, to where you have to power cycle it. That or fix my daily DC... so think I got that set now with the startup scripts.
Anyone else here play with Linksys routers and know really everything they can do? (Unix wise)
Anyways, just yet another Mystic thread. Just glad it DIDNT brick... I really didnt wanna try to short it out to fix.
