Parade The Days an awesome Rock/Pop/Emo band from Winchester, Virginia. Their songs are amazingly good and are very addictive. They have a new album they just recored with Rob Freeman (Hidden In Plane View, Cobra Starship, Houston Calls). Take the time to listen to a song on their myspace and you'll see there going to be the next big thing. I own The Hollywood Escape Magazine and I did a Interview with them. Here's the interview it will show you a lot about them.
Introduce Your Selves for the people who don't know you
Hey! We are Parade The Day. We are bunch of guys from all over northern Virginia. Myself (Matt), Blair, and Nick are from Winchester. Ben and Manny are from Sterling. I sing, Blair plays guitar and piano, Ben plays drums, Manny plays bass, and Nick plays guitar as well. We enjoy ramen noodles, sleeping on air mattresses in our van in empty parking lots, and writin sweet jams.
What got you all in to music in the first place?
All of us have had at least 1, and in Manny's case 3, bands prior to Parade The Day. Music is something that has always been apart of our lives. We love it. Its something we all knew we wanted to pursue early on. Music is the one thing that we all feel completely comfortable putting everything else in life on hold for. How many people can say that!?
Who has the biggest influence on your music?
Bands like Something Corporate, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, and Third Eye Blind, to name a few were all bands we grew up listening to in our early teenage years. Bands like Taking Back Sunday have been there for so many sweet summertime memories. We want to be that band that you turn on, and get that sweet nostalgic feeling from 10 years from now.
Tell Us about how your band started?
The band started last May when I moved down to Virginia after living in New York my whole life. I was introduced to Blair, and we immediately made a good connection, and found we had a similar interest in music as well as a similar work ethic for wanting to perfect songs. After numerous member changes, we met Ben on an online music website. Ben added such a sweet element to the band, because not only is he a great drummer, but he works hard as hell to make this band work day to day. Soon after, Manny had been in Bens old band, and was looking for a new band. Like Ben, we all clicked immediately and the rest is history. We have also decided to add our buddy Nick to fill out the 2nd guitar spot and enhance our live show recently!
Tell us about what your working on right now?
Right now we are in the final stages of preparing to release our new album! We just finished up recording in New Jersey with Rob Freeman (Hidden in Plain View, Hit the Lights, Houston Calls). We recorded 7 new songs and are super pumped for everyone to check this new album out! After that, we will be on tour most of the summer all around the east coast, and out west a little bit!
Tell us the biggest piece you advice for any bands up and coming in the scene.
Its all about having good songs. If the songs are awesome, everything else gets much easier. We had to beg and beg to get our first few shows booked in the area. Its real tough to get established, but once you start to build a bass, shows will pop up more and more. Basically the bottom line is, if you love it, go after your dreams and you will make it work. It might not be easy, but anything is possible!
