Allright, so I go down to local supermarket nearby me, and am browsing with my brother. I have my scooter, and my brother has a skateboard. I look around and notice, "Hey, all these carts have wheels and people are using them, why shouldn't I be able to use my scooter?"
So I ride it for about 10 feet, and the store manager comes over and, without explanation, says "I want you two out of my store."
...BOOTED! LOL NOOBS!
Anyway. Here are a few reasons why I think he might have booted us off his 1337z0rz server:
-I was riding my scooter, and my brother had a skateboard (but was not riding it)
-We were browsing and not buying (yet)
I can see sense in these options, because he wouldn't want the floor to be dirty from the wheels and he doesn't want "loitering". However, I'm leaning toward the first option, for this reason: He labelled us as juvenile delinquents.
I think he thought we were juvenile delinquents and skater punks who were just looking for trouble. And I can't blame him for thinking that, as almost everyone I've seen who's not a skater, thinks that skaters are all the same and just want trouble. Which is not true, and completely stereotypical.
I understand he's doing his job and didn't want anything bad to happen in his store. But, I found it extremely rude to just kick without stating a reason. He could've just said not to scooter. I wasn't even trying to be bad. Even when I entered the building, one of the employees accidently had a trashcan fall, and I picked it up for him because I was closer. So, I'm helpful, but I get kicked anyway.
I wonder what he was thinking...
"Stupid skateboard punks, they're all the same..."
QJ readers, help me make sense of this...
