im supposed to describe the domain and range of linear functions.

its negative and positive infinity in both direction if the line's slope =/= 1

if the slope == 1 then its negative and positve infity only in the direction the line goes...

correct?

2. the domain and range of any linear function is -+ infinity assuming the slope isnt 0. and when it is 0 then the domain is -+ infinity, and range is 'b'.

i think.

3. another question:
do all quadratic equations yield parabolas.... or do they yield some type of conic....

4. A parabola is a conic section intersected by a plane. And yes all quadratic equations form parabolas.

5. nvm i figured it out. deturb helped. im supposed to talk about domain and range of quadratic functions and circles, ellipses and hyperbolas arent functions hooray. only parabolas

7. ok im almost done with my paper. all thats left is this one topic and then the extra credit which is easy with googles help.

i totally forgot how to solve trig equations. like cos^2 (x) =1 for x

its not as simple as sqrting both sides is it?
