Okay...you may be wondering why I'm reviewing an album that came out in March. But I finally got enough curiousity built up to check this album. And am I impressed. Very. Far exceded the expectations.
Production Quality 10/10: Just about every major-label record is like this and for a first album this is pretty impressive
The Concept Hold-Up 9.25/10: Now there is a story in the album. It's about Adalia. A socialite in the town of Madina Lake(Which is supposed to a be a 50's town that Matthew from ML penned down and came up with the name for) disappears and hidden in the lyrics. And with really focusing you can really notice what's happening to Adalia. The actual plot is quite impressive from what I've figured. I just hope it's right. Hell. They even use mythology of Pandora to actually make a metaphor out of that.
Originality 8/10: The originality is there. And it really does exist. The song titles however are not. And kinda give away a lot of the plot. Otherwise. Compared to **** like Fall Out Boy and that stupid Boys Like Girls ****. This album kicks that stuff in the ass.
Thought Provoking 8/10: Okay. This a little subject for those who really think about what they are listening to. Does this album make you think about the plot in it? And yeah. It does. But you can probably only feel that way for a few minutes til' the song ends.
Overall 8.8: I highly recommend this album to the heavy thinkers out there who try to figure out concept albums like puzzles( Hell I do it ). For those who look at this band as a typical whiny emo band. This album won't change their opinion. But I don't see them like that.
